Does this work for farts?

Seriously ? Unless you put this thing directly over your butthole and fart into it, then no, I doubt it works for farts.

How well does this filter work compared to a smoke buddy?

I used to have the mega size smoke buddy. The sploofy lasts waaay longer & has replaceable filters at half the size. Works so much better than smoke buddy. Just gotta let it dry out if you've been blowing smoke into it like you're cheech & chong to prolong filter life

How often do you need to replace the filter? Where can I buy them? What is the price for replacements?

I'm not sure how often they need to be replaced. It would depend on how much you use it. The replacement filter cartridges are here- Sploofy V3 - Replacement Cartridges - Single Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N6KPS7K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_yiRbDbG19NSAD

Is there any actual proof of this thing reducing the amount of compounds/chemicals excreted from the device after exhale. Nicotine, cannabinoids etc

It's a HEPA filter, so yes, there is scientific proof that it eliminates the stated % down to .03um size of particulates; so anything at all, down to those microns, will be stopped, to that % of accuracy. HEPA is medical-grade; it's in CDC filters. It's stops viruses, which are way smaller than cannabinoids. It should stop any exhaled particulates, if installed correctly. That's always the caveat with any filter.
