BOSSGuitar Combo Amplifier (NEX-SPL)

This amp is really quite incredible. The design is awesome. The controls are up front and independent from the clean and lead channels. This amp is loud. I play regularly at bedroom levels, 0.5 watts and master volume at 9 o'clock. The tube logic boss has cooked into this is nothing short of amazing. The characteristics and dynamics that respond to your playing is just so natural. I find myself playing using the EL34 on the cleans and the 6V6 on lead power tube selections and it works great for me. Having the adjustability of the tone shaping is great. This amp looks intimidating on the surface but realistically you'll find your tone within a couple hours and pretty much leave it alone. The speaker and cab are really fantastic too. The special design wazacraft blue bell speaker is specifically tuned to this cabinet and the amp characteristic. It's just fantastic how good it sounds. I am happy I tried this out and couldn't recommend it enough. If you have PTSD from junky sounding solid state amps from the 90s, fear not, this isn't in that camp. It is a breed of its own and in a class of its own. Boss has a gem here and I'm excited to see where else their nextone series goes.

This amp doesn't quite match up to a tube, but it's the best solid state amp I've ever played, and it sounds fantastic. You can dial in some pretty sweet tone with the plethora of knobs and even more customization with the editor. I recommend you try out preset #2 to start, and the footswitch (sold separately) offers some excellent control. It can be very loud if you want, but sounds great at low volumes as well.

says 4 tube circuits to chose from but list no tubes in specs this is in no way a tube amp I own bothTube and Solid state amps in no way will you get true tube sound or performance out of this at $900bucksthere are several tube amps you can buy a 15 watt tube amp is louder then you will ever need for any gig. anything requiring more will have a P.A. system. want a name brand hold value Fender blues jr. $600 many many more don't waist $900.00 no none tube amp will hold value 1yr you wont get $300 for it and you will be looking for a tube amp if you are a real player only a true tube amp sounds and FEEL's like a tube amp there should be a law about charging $900.00 for this buy it if they will buy it back 1 yr later for $800.00 no questions
