Question 1

Does this ozone generator produce its own odor? i had used the greentech environmental pureair 50 and the house stunk of chlorine.

Accepted Answer

Thank you for your question. pureAir FRIDGE produces a very tiny amount of ozone, so you should never smell the ozone. It sounds like your pureAir 50 might have been turned up too high. For all of our air purifiers, the ozone is scalable so that you can turn it down. We recommend always keeping it at a level where you cannot smell the ozone but also cannot smell odors. The sweet spot is when there is no odor at all - fresh air. We are always happy to help our customers find their perfect setting. Question 2

How will I know it is time to recharge the battery and how long to does the charge last?

Accepted Answer

Thank you for your question! The charge lasts about 21-24 days. When the battery is low the green light behind the leaf will turn from green to red and the unit will emit a chirping noise when you open your refrigerator door to indicate it needs to be charged. Once this happens, simply charge the unit overnight and place back in your fridge the next morning. Then you should receive another 21-24 days before having to charge it again.

Question 3

Will the ozone kill beneficial bacteria found in fermented foods or yogurt?

Accepted Answer

Dear customer, we would like to encourage you that any food contained in an airtight container (such as the yogurt that comes pre-packaged) is not exposed to the ozone, so the good bacteria will remain intact for you as long as you keep the food in the airtight seal that it comes in. :)

Question 4

Does this help meat as well as dairy like milk, cottage cheese, yogurt, and cheese stay fresh longer and prolong life?

Accepted Answer

The reason that we specifically mention fruits and vegetables is that pureAir FRIDGE eliminates the ethylene gas that causes fruits and vegetables to decay. That doesn't apply to dairy and meat as much. But another benefit to pureAir FRIDGE is that it reduces and slows the growth of bacteria. This would have a positive impact on your dairy and meat. However, for pureAir FRIDGE to have an effect on anything it needs to be able to reach it, so it will not affect anything that is stored in an airtight container. We offer a 30-day period to try it so you can return it if you don't see the results you want. It will also keep your fridge much fresher and smelling nice. Give it a try! :)
