Dishwasher Air Gap in Chrome, KAG-1CH

This is good value for the money and the color matching with my cross faucets looks good. I don’t know if there’s any rust inside, but the inside of it has different stains, but I think this is due to manufacturing. There is no leaking. The doorbell is good and the quality is good and the fit is good. I would buy again. I just wish that there was a different design than all these funny designs with a little hat on top but overall he gets the job done and it doesn’t look obtrusive. A good buy, little pricey. durability is good

The brass top cap is a very nice solid cover thats hands down a thousand times nicer then the plastic junk they sell at the big box stores. It complements the brand new 60/40 Glacier Bay kitchen sink and Delta faucet that I just installed. The only gripe that I have and the reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is because the threads that are molded into the cap are abs plastic and not threaded brass. Not critical really, but still….come on Kraus! Just buy the machinery to cut the threads into the brass and leave the rest of the guts plastic. Or make the guts all brass too but then you would probably lose profit. 🤷‍♂️🤣

Beautiful stainless air gap. Love this air gap . It looks so much better than the old plastic one that we had previously. It was easy to install. I did it myself without my husband’s help, perfect size . No leaks , same noise level if not whiter than the old one, light and functional while looking great on my stainless sink. I would buy again and again😁

The cap on this airgap looks nicer than most and is made of steel, not plastic. However, the inside of the cap had some brown corrosion, but a year later it doesn't look that much worse. At first, I was a little confused about the metal cap, thinking that it was bonded to the plastic nut based on some customer reviews I saw and because those 2 parts were tightly attached in the package. But I was mistaken, and the metal cap does come off. You just have to pull it off really hard, which is easier to do after you install it, since the plastic nut will be held in place by the counter. I would suggest to the manufacturer that this be made clear in the manual so that customers like me and others wouldn't be confused.

Our dishwasher was improperly installed without an air gap (not required by code in Canada) and the dishwasher waste was connected directly to the garburator. When the garburator sink filled water would back up into the dishwasher and since we never use the dishwasher the waste water would sit and fester and begin to stink. I thought it was the dog who usually sits in front of the dishwasher and admittedly does stink but no it was this waste water. I installed this air gap under the counter so that it is higher than the level that the garburator sink fills to and the problem has been fixed.

At first looks like an easy install, and has a good steel cap. HOWEVER! The hose sizes required are not posted in the product info, and the larger leg will NOT fit standard dishwasher drain hose step adapters, which go from 1" to 3/4" to 5/8". The small leg fits the 3/4" throat of the universal connector once you trim it down. I have to get some 7/8" heater hose from an auto parts store to finish the connection to my sink drain. Hardware store in my are do not stock any 7/8" hose at all. Either this should be clearly stated in the product info or an appropriate length of hose should be included.

Had a plumber install this at the same time as my new Bosch Dishwasher. Couldn't get it to stop spitting water all over the counter. Kraus Customer Service said this was normal. WTF? Had to by pass it all together. The outlet hose barb broke when we removed the hose, so we left it installed. Colour looks nice. Expensive Fisher Price counter decoration.
