**Q: Can I take a rectal temperature with this?**
A: This is a culinary thermometer meant for piercing flesh. The only rectum this should be near is your back pocket unless you are taking the rectal temperature of a whole beast roasting on a spit.

A: Instant readout and nice and clear.  States it's waterproof.  I haven't had any issues using it while it snowed outside ;)

A: It would work for candy that melted into a liquid state, it will work for literally anything that the probe will sink into.

This is quite helpful in getting approx temperature while cooking as temperature is one of most important factors while cooking anything.
