The resin is a clear, light amber, low-viscosity liquid epoxy resin. Formulated for use with WEST SYSTEM hardeners, it can be cured in a wide temperature range to form a high-strength solid with excellent moisture resistance. It is designed specifically to wet out and bond with wood fiber, fiberglass, reinforcing fabrics and a variety of metals. An excellent adhesive, 105 will bridge gaps and fill voids when modified with WEST SYSTEM fillers and can be sanded and shaped when cured. With roller applications, it has excellent thin-film characteristics to flow out and self-level without "fisheyeing." The resin cures clear so that you can achieve a natural finish when coating with varnish. It has a relatively high flash point and no strong solvent odor, making it safer to work with than polyesters. ?? Try to confirm the size you are buying. **Q: Shelf life of 205 hardener? My cured epoxy (105+205) is soft, gooey, even when measured exactly with a syringe.** A: I believe 105 resin takes a higher proportion of hardener than 205 resin. Check the directions. **Q: How much faster than the "slow" hardener does the "fast" one cure?** A: On the manufacturer's website states cure time is 6 to 8 hours. The pot life at 72 degrees Celsius has 6 to 12 minutes to work with. **Q: Will the pumps work on the smaller 7 fl oz cans ?** A: I believe that if you purchase the set of 3 pumps, the smallest will fit the smallest container which is, I think, a pint. If you don't routinely use something like an eighth cup or more, you might want to consider buying some syringes from a farm supply store (a 60ml syringe for the resin and a 12 ml for the hardener). I recommend these sixes because the epoxy is mixed at a 5:1 ratio of resin to hardener and syringes of these sizes mix one major increment of one to one major increment of the other.
