Featuring six nylon monofilaments with calibrated pressure levels and a color-coded system, it enables precise assessment of nerve function related to conditions such as diabetes, neuropathy, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Housed in a durable, portable hard-shell case, this US-made tool is essential for clinicians and individuals seeking reliable, on-the-go sensory evaluation. ## Description Baseline Tactile Monofilaments are medical-grade instruments used to test for loss of sensation in the hands or feet (subcutaneous sensory perception threshold). These fine-tipped, nylon instruments are pressed against the skin to check for loss of sensation due to nerve damage caused by arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, diabetes, neuropathy, injury and more. Impaired sensation can lead to balance problems and injury. Results are then used to create a treatment plan of care. Use different-sized monofilaments to apply unique pressure to the skin to see if the individual responds to the force applied. If the individual responds, then sensation is present. If not, then move on to the next-largest monofilament to accurately access the degree of sensitivity loss. Monofilaments are available in 20 sizes, which are determined by both size and force. Size is measured in grams and force is calculated by the pressure applied when the monofilament presses against the skin. Monofilaments have a color-coded sensation system for easy clarification of results. Tools are green, blue, purple or red to indicate a unique category of sensation loss. An inability to feel the force of the green nylon monofilaments is normal, while blue signifies diminished light touch, purple is diminished sensation and red is loss of protective sensation. Monofilaments arrive in a durable, hard-shell carrying case. The case features molded slots to prevent the nylon monofilament from becoming damaged or bent. Its transparent cover allows for easy identification of the tools. Use the case to transport monofilaments as you test patients in clinical settings, friends and family at home, or perform your own self-tests. Monofilaments are compact and lightweight enough to carry in a bag to test when needed. Baseline Tactile Monofilaments are available individually as well as in two, five, six, and 20-piece sets. ## Features - Package Dimensions: 10 L x 6 H x 8 W (inches) - Package Weight : 1 pounds - Country of Origin : United States - Part number: 12-1664 ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B004Z1VEXC | | Best Sellers Rank | #239,013 in Health ( See Top 100 in Health ) #1,163 in Sensory Motor Aids | | Item model number | 12-1664 | | Manufacturer | Baseline | | Product Dimensions | 20.32 x 15.24 x 1.02 cm; 196 g | ## Images ![Baseline 12-1664 Tactile Monofilament, 6-piece Set (2.83, 3. - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/414l2W1VaZL.jpg) ![Baseline 12-1664 Tactile Monofilament, 6-piece Set (2.83, 3. - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51IfLbLTTML.jpg) ![Baseline 12-1664 Tactile Monofilament, 6-piece Set (2.83, 3. - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51F1fvRTzdL.jpg) ![Baseline 12-1664 Tactile Monofilament, 6-piece Set (2.83, 3. - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51JkCyK6n6L.jpg) ![Baseline 12-1664 Tactile Monofilament, 6-piece Set (2.83, 3. - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51-adD9wDAL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Style** options. ## Frequently Bought Together - Baseline Tactile Monofilament Sensory Perception Evaluation Tool 6-Piece Set, Clinical Level Screening Test for Hands, Feet, (2.83, 3.61, 4.31, 4.56, 5.07, 6.65 gram) - Baseline 2-Point Discrim-A-Gon 2 Disc Set for Sensory Evaluation, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation, Recovery Professional Evaluation with Plastic Tips - ASA TECHMED 6 Pcs 360° 12, 8 and 6 Inch Medical Spinal Goniometer Angle Protractor Angle Ruler --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.is/products/295022603-baseline-12-1664-tactile-monofilament-6-piece-set-2-83](https://www.desertcart.is/products/295022603-baseline-12-1664-tactile-monofilament-6-piece-set-2-83) --- *Product available on Desertcart Iceland* *Store origin: IS* *Last updated: 2026-10-04*
