my go-to writing utensil
i used to be convinced that stationary and stationary tools were merely a matter of cosmetics, and they wouldn't affect the writing experience. that changed when i bought the kuru toga roulette. the pencil itself is pretty light. it has a plastic body, with the only metal externals being the knurled grip, the tip, and the clip (and of course the lead pipe). Everything else is chromed plastic, which actually looks pretty nice. writing with this pencil is very smooth, easy, and convenient. the lead rotation is nice, but because the rotation speed is meant for short choppy strokes, it's a bit too slow for my liking. still, this is a really nice piece to write with. my experience with this pencil is extremely positive. i've used it every single day for the past year and it's been spectacular. the lead pipe has super tight tolerances, so you'll notice a pretty big decrease in lead breakage compared to a throwaway mechanical pencil. it's great for writing, sketching, technical drawings, and pretty much whatever you throw at it. the feel of the pencil itself is super smooth. not too heavy, not too light. since i started using the roulette, i've tried other models like the advance upgrade and the standard kuru toga, but i always come back to this one. it's always in my pencil case, and it's always reliable when i whip it out. if you're looking for an affordable drafting pencil with good construction, or you're looking for a gift for a friend, this pencil will go far.

Yes, it is as good as it looks!
Ok, normally I have to write extended reviews to not only give praise to its features and accomplishments, but also to give a run down on all of their issues and sub par materials. This Mech, I have to say, is one fine pencil. It isn’t just a great design, it is also technically very sound and I found no bad issues whatsoever. The materials used in the build are all high end. The fittings are masterly snug. And even pulling a line with this pencil feels amazing. Holding this mech in your hand, you can feel the significant difference from how most other pencils feel. This Pencil feel high end. The grip is a hybrid of knurling and grooves. The tip is a little on the large size, but the tubular steps are brilliantly sized with the first step down being sized perfectly for those of us who tend to choke up on pencils when going in for the fine detail. The needle tip holds the lead very firm and stable. There is no excessive play in the needle that would cause flex/bowing or lead chattering. For those of you wondering what that means. When a needle has a little too much excessive play inside, the lead can slightly bounce causing a micro chattering effect you can feel. When the needle has way too much excessive play, it causes the lead to flex and bow easily breaking leads often, also causing precision issues when the lead jumps around in the needle during lay down and lift off of paper. This “UNI” mech has none of those issues. The lead spiraling function they added to always help keep the lead stay sharp by spinning, works great. And it has a small window on the grip to show that the function is working inside. The lead advancement is about 0.3 to 0.4mm per click. Making it easier to fine tune the perfect length for individuals. Now this Mech isn’t balanced, but Mechs don’t need to be balanced. Not sure why some people get caught up in feeling they need it to be. So I just go Ahead and add that on my list of check points for others. Although, it never holds weight in my reviews and should never be a deciding factor for any user, just as the erasers on Mechs should never be taken into account. I do reviews for real people, Not little children that gets upset cause they have trouble with, or replacing the erasers that they really don’t need to be using in the first place. Personally speaking, if I was to ever design my own Mechanical Pencil, it wouldn’t even have an eraser. Grow up and buy a separate eraser. Now, let’s get back to the review. This is where I normally have to leave a real complaint about how a clicker head is loose and feels like it moves around to much. But, this clicker head feels ok. Sure it has a small amount of lateral play, but far from being bad. Plus the push clutch feels nice and firm when pushing it in. And I guess I should add that it has a nice strong feeling clip on this mech, though, I will also add that a clip on a mech is another overrated addition people feel the need to care about. I have never found a time that I was glad that my mech had a nice clip. Haha. Your mech should never be slid into your pocket where it would need that clip. This is not a pen. You shouldn’t be just carrying it around like you will need to be signing your signatures with. If it needs to go with you some place, then put it in a closing pencil pouch, pencil roll, case, or something that protects it. Not just shoved in a pocket like a cheap Bic pen. All this aside... let’s finish up this review by letting me tell you that I would highly suggest buying this Mech. I seriously couldn’t really find anything wrong with it. It is easily capable of being on a list of some of the best Mechs on the market. On top of the fact that it isn’t expensive. So you have a great pencil at a great price. This is definitely one to put in your collection. It’s a 5 star Mech.

Discovered on TikTok and Worth the Hype
I first learned about this mechanical pencil through TikTok, and it ended up being one of the few viral products that actually lives up to the hype. This is an ingenious design and an excellent choice for anyone who prefers writing with a consistently sharp point. The auto-rotation mechanism works exactly as advertised, rotating the lead slightly each time you lift the pencil so the sharp edge is always in contact with the paper. It noticeably improves line consistency and reduces the uneven wear you get with standard mechanical pencils. The pen quality and write quality are excellent. Writing feels smooth and controlled, with clean, precise lines that are ideal for note-taking, technical writing, or detailed work. It is very easy to use and does not require any adjustment or learning curve. You simply write as normal and the mechanism works in the background. Build quality is outstanding. The pencil feels solid, well-made, and durable, and it gives the impression that it will last for years. It uses standard 0.5mm lead, which makes refilling simple and inexpensive. The rotating mechanism also helps reduce lead breakage, even when writing with lighter pressure. The only real downside is the eraser, which is very small and not especially practical for frequent use. If you make a lot of corrections, you will want to keep a separate eraser nearby. Overall, this is a thoughtfully engineered pencil that delivers consistent performance and long-term durability.

Great for Math, But Not Perfect
4/5 – This is a very good pencil for things like math or note taking where you are constantly lifting the pencil. The Kuru Toga mechanism keeps the lead rotating so the line stays consistent, which works really well. The main downside is the build. Some parts are still plastic and the pencil can occasionally unscrew itself if you hold it loosely or fidget with it. Overall it works well and I use it often, but it is not quite perfect.

Beautiful Pencil with Some Flaws
First off this is an expenisve pencil. Period no doubt about it, it's pricey. But once you get it you'll understand why. Every where I go, and use this people look at me, and say "Woah that's nice." Trust me when I say this "This is a sexy pencil!" It is beyond the best looking mechanical pencil I've ever used. But no matter the look that's still a hefty price. It's justifiable though. The mechanism inside turns as you write. It may sound relatively simple, but it's super handy. Personally I print, so as I write it tends to dull out on one side, so I have to turn my pencil to get a sharp tip to write on. This however completely elimaninates that. The best part though for me is the little circle cut out that actually lets you see the turning. It's pretty darn cool. Their is something that really does p*** me off, and that's the eraser. That thing is barely a centimeter, and truly sucks at being an eraser. I used this two days in math, and it was barely a stub by the third day of school. So if your planning to buy keep an eraser handy. Even though it looks good it has another major body flaw. And that's the clip part. That section of the pencil is plastic, and it will peel/scratch like it did to mine. Apart from that the rest of the pencil is made from metal. It really gives it that high end feel. If you are gonna buy this I can't stress enough that you should go with their led. The Kuro Tuga led it personally for me a lot tougher? It's led, I know, how can it be tough? If you use this led, and press down their is as huge difference from other leds. You'll feel the diference when your writing. I have personally bought their led, and am currently in highschool. I have science, math, french, and English, and have only run though three rolls (currently on the third). Oh and we've reached the end of the secound quarter, so those three rolls lasted me half a school year. And those are prettty writing intensive classes, so I guarantee it'll last you a while. Overall though this is an amazing pencil. It looks great, writes like butter, and it will last you as of write now probably an entire school year of intensive everyday writing. Pricey but defenitily worth the buy. You won't be dissapointed. And if you found this useful in anyway hit that helpful button for me. Have a great day !

WOW! Why didn't I get this when it came out?
Strangely satisfying! After years of cheap disposable plastic mechanical pencils, and all of the natural muscle memory involved in using them, this actually took a 5-minute learning curve! What do you mean I don't have to rotate it for consistency? What do you mean I don't have to manually eject the lead? What do you mean I don't have to compensate for it being too long or too Short? The plastic tip doesn't break after three pieces of lead? Boy is this a game changer when it comes to sketching! Better quality, much better control and consistency. Cuts time by 2/3. I had no idea how much time I was wasting screwing with the old pencils until I tried this one.

Quite possibly the perfect mechanical pencil
This pencil is perfect. Before I get into the full review I advise you to look at the picture I provided. Here’s the explanation on that. *For those of you that don’t know there are lead hardness grades HB is standard, and is dead center on the hardness scale. 2B is 2 grades of 8 from the softest, makes darker lines. *I never adjusted my grip for the test 1) HB 0.7 (no autorotate, graphgear 1000) 2) HB 0.5 (no autorotate, graphgear 1000) 3) 2B 0.5 (autorotate from kurutoga) 4) HB 0.5 (autorotate from kurutoga) Pick your favorite. I know mine Balance is 9/10. I have a pentel graphgear 1000 which was my favorite until now. I love the weight of the graphgear. This does not have that same weight, but it does have some. Enough to create a great counterbalance, and reduce fatigue if you tend to press hard while writing like I do. Construction 8/10- Rotring 800 sets the standard for quality construction. The bottom half (from grip down) of this pencil I would give a 10/10, but the upper sheath is plastic, they use that stupid wrap around clip for the clip, and the eraser as will all pencils of this category is garbage. The pencil doesn’t feel like it will never break, but feels like it is likely to last years which is plenty for a $10 pencil and the fact that your almost for sure going to lose it before you break it. Functionality 9.8/10- the auto rotate works like a dream lending itself to much cleaner writing, darker lines (due to finer point), and consistent lines. I also really love that they have a small hole to show that it is rotating the lead. Despite the whole being very small, I think it would achieve the same effect being a little smaller and less noticiable on your finger. The only reason it’s not 10/10 is because you do feel the writing shaft depress, and ever, ever so slightly wiggle. You’ll feel it when you initially pick up the pencil, but it isn’t noticiable after even a few minutes of writing. It causes no inconsistencies or difficulty with writing. Lead feeds well, and the pencil feels good in your hand. I do appreciate that the grip is wider than your standard bic mechanical pencil. I love my rotring, but this wins on functionality because the grip is a bit larger leading to less hand fatigue or cramping. The knurling on the grip is also quite fine which I like. It’s still plenty grippy, but doesn’t dig in at all like the graphgear or rotring can, again, particularly if you grip on the stronger side. Writing quality 11/10- literally flawless. I mentioned a few things that you could factor into writing quality, but as a whole, I don’t think it gets better than this.

Ontvangen
Schrijft fijn, je voelt de Vulpotlood pen wel tussen je fingers. Voelt koel aan, maar dat komt door het materiaal. Ook hier zit een vulling inbegrepen. Zoals geadverteerd ontvangen.
