Best game you might ever play, but a subpar port.
Nocturne is without a doubt one of the best games I've played. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an engaging RPG to spend ~60 hours on for a single playthrough. The HD Remaster feels mediocre however. It's essentially the original PS2 release but in widescreen and a higher resolution. The horribly compressed music is still prevalent in the remaster, and it's still locked to 30 fps. I played in handheld 100% of the time and noticed lots of resolution downscaling and sometimes large frame drops when using certain skills that had some on screen effects, which really shouldn't be happening on a PS2 port. There were also some freezes during the last quarter of the game that lasted for 3-5 seconds during some battles. I'd still wholeheartedly recommend the game though. Play it. Play it right now.

SMT3 on the go
The game is legit and came in perfect condition. This is a beloved game by lots of SMT fans & being on a portable console is just perfect & this rendition looks great on my Switch 2. I got this for ($23 at the time of purchase). This is a must play JRPG especially since it is made my Altus which always delivers.

Want A Better, More Mature Pokemon-Like Game? Look No Further!
A classic, some even say a masterpiece, from Atlus' SMT series. If you ever wanted a Pokemon game that was more mature, with better graphics, story, and battling system, this is it. Once you play it, you'll never be able to look at Pokemon games again the same way without comparing it to the SMT series. If you're an older Pokemon fan that's been wanting the game to mature along with the audience, or are a fan of the Persona series (Persona being a spinoff of the Shin Megami Tensei series), you'll want to pick this up, and maybe even checkout the DS releases of the other games in the series. An amazing game, experience, and a wonderful time overall, I'm eagerly awaiting SMT V coming out later this year! 5 Stars! Get it, you won't regret! Also available on Steam!

What an experience!
I owned this game forever on the PS2, but I never got around to playing it. Finally playing the HD version, and wow! Such a moody, thoughtful game. Outstanding soundtrack. Really like the battle system and the emphasis on buffs and debuffs as well as targeting weaknesses. Kinda feels like a certain other monster catching game franchise, but all the monsters are actual creatures from mythology and folklore and history from around the world, and you have to negotiate with them to join your party. And also it's incredibly lonely and empty. Dungeons are a little mediocre, but the atmosphere of the entire world really draws you in. This game is notorious for its difficulty, but once you get the hang of the battle system, it's not too unforgiving - just expect to lose a lot and learn from your mistakes.

A darker JRPG with lots of gameplay
I was unfamiliar with the SMT franchise so didn’t know what to expect although I had watched some video. What is different about this game that others where you capture or recruit team members is in this game you can fuse different demons to get something stronger. Particularly in the later stages of the game you can get some really cool demons with great powers. There are alternate end game scenarios depending on what path you choose. It is a darker apocalyptic type scenario and very little dialogue. If you like rpgs with clever repartee among characters this is not for you. The main character and the only none you control is pretty robotic, which is why I rated the game as 4/5. I found the demon fusing interesting and boss battles can be challenging. Graphics are OK but pretty basic. Game is not glitchy at all.
