helpful nutrient, dense supplement for growing foals
This is a great high-protein, high-fat supplement for foals. I have a foal that didn’t have the best start in life, as he was orphaned at birth and didn’t reach his expected size or condition early on. Since adding this supplement to his feed, I have started to notice positive changes in his overall condition and development. It has been easy to incorporate into his daily feeding routine. Overall, it seems to be a quality product that may help support young or underdeveloped foals with additional nutritional needs.

Great for foals 2-12 months old
This is a solid supplement for foals. This supplement provides nutrition for young horses and supports their growth. The amino acids help with hair growth, and overall health. I really like this particular supplement because they have thought through the ingredients and proportions. It does have a weird smell but other than that it’s been great, and my horse has not refused it. I would recommend this for horses up to 12 months.

Good supplement for younger foals
This is a whey protein powder based foal supplement. It contains plenty of multivitamins to support growth. However you can't really add this until you're foal is eating some sort of solid foods so you can mix it in with the food. This is great once your foal starts eating some grain. It's easy to use and seems like a quality supplement. It certainly smells really good. The problem is as foals age they don't need whey protein anymore so this is mostly useful for foals under 5 months of age. The price is slightly steep.

GREAT product for foals. Foals taking to this easily with noticeable results.
QUICK LOOK: This amino acid supplement delivers exceptional quality and value that's hard to match in the pet supplement market. Quality control is evident: made in America, NASC certified, third-party lab tested, and arrives impeccably sealed with uniform, consistent appearance. The value proposition compared to dog-specific supplements is remarkable - you're getting superior quantity and quality at better pricing. As always, veterinary consultation is essential before supplementing, but from a quality and value standpoint, this is highly recommendable. THE GOOD STUFF: - Contains all 10 essential amino acids required for dogs - Meaningful mineral and vitamin content beyond basic formulation - Made in America with domestic manufacturing standards - NASC certification ensures quality and safety protocols - Third-party laboratory testing validates contents - Superior quantity-to-price ratio in this category - Consistent, uniform product appearance indicates quality control - Well-sealed packaging preserves freshness and integrity - Reputable brand with proven track record - High-quality manufacturing evident in finished product - Small amounts provide beneficial results THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF: - Nothing to report here.

Great nutrient dense specific foal supplement
Pennwoods 2–12 Months Foal Supplement I picked this up for a young, growing foal as they all are. I really appreciate the ingredient list. The 32% protein content is a big plus since growing horses need that extra high in protein kick,, for proper development. Plus rhe added fat (12%) helps with healthy weight gain and overall condition of their coat. I also like that it includes organic selenium, which is important for muscle development and overall health. Pretty much required and it's organic. Young horses grow fast so they need a really supportive bump. This is a balanced for foals in that critical 2–12 month stage. This is the stage to make sure they get enough nutrition and this does just thar. Feeding is straightforward with the 1 oz per 100 lbs guideline. Just increasenir as they grow per these instructions. Overall, I have had no issue on giving this to the little horse baby even though it has some gritty texture, has not been bothered by it

Worth it if you’re actually trying to keep a foal growing properly
Started using this during the transition off milk and it made a noticeable difference in overall condition. No digestive issues, no weird drop-off in appetite, just steady growth and better weight maintenance through a pretty sensitive stage. Coat condition improved within a few weeks and they’re holding muscle better than I expected for this age. You can tell when something is actually being utilized instead of just passing through. It’s easy enough to mix into feed and they take it without hesitation, which matters more than people think at this stage. For what it is, it’s doing exactly what I needed — consistent support during growth without overcomplicating the feeding routine.

Smooth digestion, healthy supplement
Our foals are fine but we wanted to give them that extra umph to ensure they're healthy and growing strong. This supplement has been wonderful. We've noticed a big difference. They look healthier and their weight has improved. I think we'll stick with this. Super healthy for them and they haven't had any difficulties with digestion. This supplement is trustworthy, value is so very worth it.

Strange smell but they eat it anyway
I got this to prepare for my goats and sheep birthing this spring. Bummer sheep and goats are never fun. But not being prepared for that is even worse. I always try and have supplement on hand, both the powered kind for newborns and this product, which is fed later when they are weaning. I tasted this and it is sort of like dry milk. The consistency of the product is quite course and gritty, but the animals never seem to notice. This product has very high protein (32%), which rapidly growing animals need to develop properly, so providing them with that protein in a palatable form is very important. It's also chock full of vitamins and minerals for bright eyes, shiny coat and good brain development. Since we are feeding to smaller stock, this eleven-pound bag lasts quite a while. We have an old scale in the barn as we prefer to weigh the powder and add to feed. Recommended is 1 ounce per 100 pounds of animal weight. Using a scale helps with inadvertently over supplementing, which can cause diarrhea. Both our dairy goats and Lincoln Longwool sheep readily consume the Pennwoods without snubbing it. If you have animals, having this on hand for emergencies and for boosting the nutrition of feed is an important part of animal husbandry. Our dogs were very disappointed when they shoved their faces into the bag and found that it was powdered. Each got a mouth full of supplement. Apparently is smells great to them also.
