Great, large, strong- easy to install mailbox. It is roomy enough for small packages and keeps mail that before didn’t fit in the box- dry. Be sure and read the dimensions- it is large.

and it even comes with the perfect post! The box itself is wonderfully large, with plenty of room for most packages, and the supporting substructure is designed specifically to hold the mailbox secure, no matter what the weight (I buy a LOT of books). Even my postman was delighted with this new setup, and complimented me and the maker of this product -- he'd never seen one so perfectly designed, and I appreciated not only the excellence of the design and heavy construction, but also the fact that the cost was very reasonable. Believe me, it's WORTH IT to have a trustworthy mailbox!

Good mailbox, but the post left some to be desired. It screws together with 3 small screws halfway up the metal base. Over the course of a year or so, those screws loosened through normal use, and the entire thing became wobbly. I ended up replacing the post with a cedar mailbox post and am much happier with it now!

Great mailbox kit. Your postal worker will approve and love it as it is big enough for bigger packages.

I've had this for about 1 1/2 years. It was easy to install it is sturdy; however I was concerned about metal-on-metal wear and tear. Last week, I went to check the mail and the door was hanging off. The door is held on with a pin fastened with a cotter pin. One cotter pin had rusted through and the other was rusting. I contacted the manufacturer and was informed that the 5 year warranty "a structure warranty meaning the body of the box" and that the doorpins (and certain other parts) only come with a one year warranty. The doorpins can be purchased for $2 but I don't want to be replacing them every year or two. I also noticed that paint appears to be coming off in a small part where the metal door rubs against the metal box every time the the door is opened/closed. I'm hoping that it won't start to rust. The previous, ugly plastic box that I had was at least 15 years old and still worked fine. This mailbox looks MUCH better, but I don't know if it will last as long. A year ago, I would have told you how happy I was that I had bought it. Now, I could not endorse it as enthusiastically.

I replaced the Box with rotten wooden post that had been broken. No worry now. The only change was to paint the flag red so it can be seen from the house. Oh yes, I did use a concrete base for long term stability.

A good addition to your home. I was looking for something that would fit into my modern home without standing out. This design fits the bill. It's big enough to accept medium-sized boxes apart from the occasional mail. Comes with everything you need to get up and running. It's been through a few rains and so far I don't see any water ingress or rusting. PROS: - Well-built - Maximum space for small boxes apart from the occasional mail - Water-resistant - Rust-resistant CONS: - Annoying open/close mechanism through a notch. I would prefer a magnetic open and close lock. - Needs to be properly installed in the ground to ensure a solid operation - Price
