Are they water tight and aquarium safe? I'd like to run an aquarium pump in a water filled and sealed 5 gallon bucket with the cord through the lid.

These are for automotive-industrial use. They would only be waterproof if sealer was added such as silicone and you were able to seal it with the silicone.

Can rbg grommets be cut?

The grommets could be cut if necessary but they are fairly hard, they are not the soft rubber ones that I really wanted . Because they are so hard they might be a little difficult to work with after but they will do the job.

can these be drilled to slightly enlarge a hole or will they split?

I haven't had a need to drill out these, but in my past experience, when you drill out the hole to make it slightly bigger, the drill catches the rubber and tares the rubber up. I f you have a Dremel, you might be able to ream out the hole with a round sander tool, but I think drilling it out of the question.
