It’s deep and woodsy and perfect for the long nights. I keep coming back. The sticks are for about 30 minutes which can help you with your meditation. And they smell divine which can help you with closed windows in a small space with litter boxes. Low smoke output versus other incense brands. The scent is beautiful and invokes a mystery of winter. I love it.

These are small, highly concentrated sticks that burn cleanly and suitable for a variety of uses.

I was surprised that I didn't like this incense as I have been very happy with Nippon Kodo Morning Star incense before. This didn't really have hardly any smell, just a bit of smokiness, almost as if a neighbor was having a cigarette or something. I wonder if mine has gotten dried out or something. Another reviewer mentions trying a stick of this with a stick of their myrrh type, maybe I should try that. The sandalwood is so fantastic, and a lot of others too, this just left me very disappointed, and puzzled. No other frankincense incense I've ever tried smelled (or didn't smell!) like this. Every other one of their products I have tried I would give a 5 out of 5 so I don't know what happened here, I suppose you can get a bad box once in a while.

Frankincense and myrrh joss sticks should be burned together. I found that burning this Frankincense alone had an after scent of burning smoke. When burned with myrrh it became more the scent of a parish Mass. It was a nice thing to see Morning Star developing new scents. A good company is always exploring, always trying something old as the new. Good company.

Each box comes with a tiny ceramic stand, which is great. The smell is more perfume-y though, which I didn't really like (which is my fault for picking a wrong sent). Most Japanese sticks are this way though. Each stick burns for about 15 mins. If you are looking for something more Earthy, try Tibetan incense.

Maybe i didn't read the description well enough but I definitely thought they'd be longer...other than that they smelled great lasted about a month good deal

Buyer beware! Don't purchase, all you get is smoke I'm extremely disappointed!

I started using incense a while ago after reading how it might help to get rid of the smell of curry that comes up from the apartment below every day, and it works. These Japanese incence sticks are quite a bit shorter and slimmer than the Indian ones I usually buy but there is a lot more in the box for a similar price. They are not as overpowering as the Indian sticks but still fill my apartment with the lovely smell of sandlewood right through my apartment from one small stick. Burning time is approximately 30 minutes with very little smoke. Better than candles and seem to be quite relaxing too. Please note, the seller allowed me to change my order from frankincense to sandlewood so my review is for sandlewood.

One of the best brands of incense. Beautiful smell, decent burn-time and a smoke that does not irritate anyone in the room. Japanese offer some of the best incense on the market.
