Review: Works extremely well. Easy install - This Optimus unit is much more precise than I expected in a consumer GPS. I moved the car over 3 feet on the driveway, and it registered that small move and drew a new map. Impressive. It updates at 30 second intervals, which is adequate for my use, which is to track the car if it is stolen (just had another car stolen from me in Arizona -- and recovered by Colorado police - YAY! ). It is also very sensitive to movement such as shutting the trunk or closing a door. For some, it might be too sensitive, but if so, the apps do allow you to turn the "movement alert" on and off quickly. Obviously anyone trying to monkey with the car is going to set it off -- even if they jack it up for stealing wheels or to tow, it is going to alert. The phone app and the web browser app are not all that impressive, but they do respond quickly to the units communications, usually within 5-7 seconds of the "triggering event" in my testing of it. It also uses Google maps, so that is a good thing. Overall, I'd say the apps are mediocre, but still no complaints, as they DO get the job done in a basic way. Installation is as simple as splicing into a 12v wire ("hot" at all times) and a ground wire. Easy as pie (the unit comes with its own in-line fuse holder and 5A fuse). It draws only a few mA, and leaving the car parked for 5 days without being started had no effect at all on the battery's starting power delivery. I can't speak to longevity or durability, but the GPS unit seems to be well made and a solid piece. As long as it holds up over time, this seems to be a really good unit and a nice bang-for-the-buck value.
Review: Excellent GPS Tracker - I purchased a tracker a little over two years ago to install on my boat. I do have a HOT Spot on my boat for the internet connection. I anchored my Sailboat in the Ft. Pierce inlet in Florida and I wanted to be able to monitor it's movement with the tide changes. My boat should not be able to move more than three hundred ft. with the chain that I have out as the tide goes from high to low or low to high. I set up a geofence with those dimensions in mind. The tracker is very accurate. If my boat moves at all (from the tide or high winds) I am notified immediately. I can check my boat's location within the geofence at anytime 24 hours a day on my computer or my Iphone. I also have four cameras mounted on the boat to verify location but It is easier just to check the geofence. When I am on the Optimus Tracker App It also tells me the voltage of my onboard batteries which is to me one of the best qualities of the tracker. I always know if my solar panels are keeping up with my onboard usage. I know that most people use these in cars, but it also works great for my situation. I have contacted customer service on two occasions and both times I got a response within minutes and my questions were answered. Excellent Customer Service and the monthly charges are minimal and worth every penny. FYI, this is the only review that I have written for a desertcart product in the past year. Most all of their products are good, but I thought that this one deserved me writing a review.

A: You can see where your vehicle has been in the last year.

**Q: Would this be good if my vehicle was stolen?**
A: Some customers do use this device in case it is stolen.  Keep in mind it could be disconnected by the car thief if it is found.  You can conceal it in when installing as long as it is connected to the battery and not on a section of the car that gets extremely hot.

I love this. It's super easy to install and seems to work pretty well with the app as well as the web browser. It was very affordable, and the subscription intervals are handy and help with affordability. You can choose to pay monthly, quarterly, or annually. The larger the interval, the more of a discount you will get. I choose monthly for $12, which costs more, but I don't plan to need it all year.
