Some good ideas, weakened by used of Myers-Briggs.
I bought this book after hearing the author on the Jordan Harbinger podcast; I wanted to get more detail on the techniques to avoid falling prey to them. The book is a relatively light read and has some good examples. The techniques are explained one by one, in detail, and the book is well-structured, making it easy to reference them again quickly later. The author provided useful information about what techniques may be used on people with certain observable personality traits, but explained these in terms of Myers-Briggs (MBTIยฎ). Perhaps some people may find this a useful framework, but I found it annoying as MBTI has been largely debunked. Refer to writers such as Adam Grant and Merve Emre, for example. It would have been a stronger book if he'd just stuck to talking about traits, and left MBTI out of it.

Amazing book
Great book showing how much we are often not aware of what we reveal to others in our casual conversation and how often we will do anything to cave into correction addiction often at our own peril. For those who have read never split the difference by Chris voss, this is a great follow up Bc it shows us how simple reflective listen skills can be used in many different ways when trying to receive critical intel and how we can use certain skills to get people to open up to us when we are trying to connect with someone. I find it strange some have said it is a trash book or that it is just anecdotes. I don't believe we read the same book. As far as I can see there was more than just anecdotes. Anecdotes were given to show examples of how it is used, but there were 16 techniques used and shown based on basic 9 skills of reflective listening in different ways to get information. The hardest part for most is the deep active listening skills, empathy, and knowing their own triggers so they can put their ego aside to do what is necessary. I found the book not just helpful, but also easy to understand
