No you shouldn't any stones rocks or minerals ending with ite should not sit in water they will eventually disintegrate examples flourite calcite selenite etc sorry

Can I place these in my fire pit for a colorful accent?

I have not exposed any fluoride stones to high heat. I wouldn’t recommend it, the composites of these stones are much different from your standard stones. I camp quite a bit, and have learned that some stones pop and snap at high heat exposure. I polish the stones with a tumbler, and display them in glass jars around the house. They make great gifts as well.
