For my wedding back in May 2012, I received one of those LCD digital picture frames from one of my previous coworkers. I previously purchased a Transcend 8GB Class 6 SDHC memory card Transcend 8 GB Class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card with USB Card Reader TS8GSDHC6-P2 for another LCD digital picture frame but now since I had two frames, I now needed a 2nd SDHC card. For those not familiar with the brand, the market is dominated by the names of Sandisk and PNY and it can be quite confusing on which is a "better" product. First and foremost, if you don't have an SDHC card read on your PC or laptop, you need some kind of card reader. Luckily my past purchase came with a USB adapter so this time around, all I had to do is just purchase the card itself. Although I paid nearly the same price as my previous purchase, the reason for similarity in price is due to the fact that this card (being reviewed) is a Class 10 SDHC card. Class ratings have a specific purpose. The SD Association defines standard speed classes indicating minimum performance to record video. Both read and write speeds must exceed the specified value. These are defined in terms of suitability for different applications: Class 2 for SD video recording Class 4 and 6 for HD ~ Full HD video recording, Class 10 for Full HD video recording and HD still consecutive recording. The specification defines these classes in terms of performance curves that translate into the following minimum read-write performance levels on an empty card: Class Minimum performance Class 2 2 MB/sec Class 4 4 MB/sec Class 6 6 MB/sec Class 10 10 MB/sec So you may be asking "why did you buy a Class 10 card specifically for a digital picture frame, which wouldn't dare need to meet those speed performances"? While your question may be valid, remember I'm using these for pictures... hundreds if not thousands of pictures... that need to be transferred from my PC to the card itself. The class speed specification also applies to files being copied to/from the card itself. So with that said, I got a class 10 because the price is fairly cheap (cheaper than when I looked in 2011) plus I'm "future proofing" myself in the event that I want to use this card for another purpose (perhaps a future digital SLR camera). Doing simple transfer tests, I did achieve slightly over a 10 MB/sec transfer rate while copying pictures to this card. While others may boast that the Sandisk high speed cards are able to transfer faster, they also cost an arm and a leg. Transcend is the only card that has decent performance at a very affordable price. I know I only own two of them, but because of the value I can easily see myself looking to buy more of them in the future. Recommended.

Well, ok .... , maybe not the furious, coz I've got reason to be furious with this card at all. But blimey, is it fast :) It works perfectly in my Panasonic camera recording HD video and when you come to transfer the images and video files onto the laptop (via the built in card reader in my Acer) .... it's as quick, if not quicker than a Hard drive transfer. I would highly recommend this to any camera owner :)

Consigliata.
