This product worked to perfection! The crown of our chimney was severely damaged by a earthquake three years ago and I didn't think to check the chimney for damage...until two months ago when the rains began pouring into the fireplace. After a thorough inspection and online research I decided on CHIMNEYRX...and it was fabulous. Online purchase was easy...delivery on time...instructions clear and concise...and VERY helpful. Very easy to apply and when completed...looked like a pro. Things I did that might be helpful to others...dip your brush in water and shake excess water before applying material...makes for much smoother application and fewer brush strokes. If product begins to dry upon application...it was nearly 90 degrees and dry when I applied...spray your brush with water spritzer used to moisten chimney crown before applying product...again...makes for superior application with minimal brush strokes. Cleanup was very easy and materials are adhering like a fortress. Haven't had heavy rains to test it thoroughly, but I have NO doubt this product will be the answer to all my problems. To ensure a waterproof chimney, I also sprayed a masonry sealant on the bricks...easy to do and should last for years.

Works very well. You can trowel it or use a brush. MAKE SURE YOU USE A VERY STIFF BRUSH. Went on easily.

I rebuilt / resurfaced my crown last fall and went up to check on it now on a nice day in winter. It’s solid, looks beautiful and very confident it’s a job well done, and money well saved over getting a pro to sap my savings. It is truly a game changer, my crown is 75 years old, so I resurfaced the whole thing plus added a good 1/2 inch to the top, and it looks like new, will serve out the remainder my life no doubt. It’s really satisfying knowing a job is done ‘forever’, so thanks for engineering a great product.

I was very skeptical about doing this, however, I am very pleased now 2 years later at how much it has held up. I followed the directions to a T and prepped the service, cleaned it, roughed it up and then applied very very thick. I used the entire tub on the chimney. I am very pleased at the results as you can see from my before, after, and 2 years later photos. I posted photos of 2022(before application, lots of large cracks), 2022 (During application w/blue tape still on edges) and 2024 (2 years later, the rusting is from my rusting cap, which I need to remove, brush and repaint). I am just a homeowner that was impressed with a product that just worked, I have done so many projects that don’t work out. For now my cracks are still sealed and I can avoid having to put new concrete cap, this is firm but malleable and does the trick.

My chimney leaks with the slightly rain or snow, leaving unsightly lime and calcium stains all over the brick, and damage to the surrounding ceiling. After 8 years of frustration, at least half-a-dozen local idiots, and over $1000 wasted...we found the $60 solution! I found this product after researching our problem online and came across a video on Youtube. After cleaning the chimney crown and wetting it, the sealant was easily applied using a 3" brush. The best way to describe the product is that is has the look, feel and consistency of a latex-based thin-set mortar. Please be aware: the product goes on relatively thick, so if you have a large surface crown, be prepared to use the entire gallon. Also, I found that the product dried relative quickly so please work quickly! The real test came 2 days later when it rain on and off for the next 48 hrs. Not a drop of moisture or new lime/calcium accumulation on the chimney. Like magic! To think the last quote we got for a "professional repair" was in excess of $13000! Ridiculous.
