Curious Columbus My Big Day Quiet Book, Fabric Busy Book for Travel (Blue)

Edit: customer service responded very very quickly and resolved our issue. Do not hesitate on purchasing this or the “my big day book”, they are wonderful! Though they might “fight over the one book(I have another ordered) It’s nice to see them playing with something not electronic. I got this for my almost 3 year old but my autistic 8 year old loves it as well as my 11 year old! She says it just so cute and I agree, I could sit and fidget with this book myself. Just received this book today for my almost 3 year old. We are having a hard time keeping her still in restaurants, she wants to do what her older siblings do and that’s get up and move. So far she likes it, our arrived missing the space ship for the astronaut page so she doesn’t have anything to do there but get frustrated with the extremely tiny buckle. But she loves the cooking page, doctor page, building page, mail page and fire truck page. The skate not so much, she loves the paint brush but has no interest in the paint buttons just yet. My 8 year old autisic child on the other hand loves this book resulting in me having to order my big day so we have two books, hopefully that one comes with all it should for $34 I expected more. Will update review once seller sends a new book with all parts.

Absolutely love this book and this company. This book has saved us on long car rides and in restaurants so many times. The quality is very nice and well worth the price. We actually like it so much we have both quiet books (“when I grow up” and “my big day”) My daughter initially wasn’t super into it when she was around 2 years old but now she’s 3 and it keeps her occupied for quite a while! She even chooses it over watching Daniel Tiger in the car (we only let her have screen time on long car rides so the fact that she picks this over screen time is amazing!) I can see it lasting a long time and her continuing to be interested in it since she likes it so much and still isn’t able to do some of the activities in it (buttons, lacing) Once she learns those things it will continue to keep her occupied in the future. We actually lost a couple pieces to it and the company was very quick to respond and is sending some parts. What I didn’t know was that they now sell the spare parts for each book on Amazon as well so I don’t have to worry about it in the future. These would be a very unique present for birthdays or holidays too!

Very well done book. My 3 yo has had it for a few days now, and she loves it. I especially like the shoes and shoelaces. She's always been intimidating by tying shoes, but this lets her play around with shoelaces without the pressure of doing an actual bunny ear tie. She likes each and every page except, perhaps, the dog collar. She did that once and then was bored, BUT I completely understand that this book is meant for a wider age audience, so I'll accept this as just being too simple. Importantly, the quality of the build is good, the activities are engaging and the "illustrations" are very cute and approachable.

We bought this to give my toddler something to keep her busy when we are traveling or out at restaurants. Typically she will ask for my phone to watch some of her baby shows but I wanted to give her something educational to limit her screen time a bit. She absolutely LOVES this book. When she sees it in the diaper bag she gets very excited and asks for it until I give it to her. She loves buckling the dogs collar and pretending to eat the food from the fridge. It really keeps her quiet and she usually never stops talking. She becomes so focused and into the activities in this book that we almost forget we are out with a toddler. I highly recommend this product.

Overall this is a good quiet book, although more appropriate for slightly older toddlers. When we got this for a long international trip for my son he was 21 months, and couldn't open the tent zip or thread the shoelace, or open the buckles (the buckles to be fair are VERY tiny and even I struggle if I'm a bit tired). He enjoyed the moveable velcro items (and yes we lost a bunch on the plane), but it didn't keep him busy for more than 5 minutes. Now that he's over 2 he can at least do the zip, but still can't do the other stuff. Whoever decided to have a removable part on the front of a toddler book (the plane propeller) gets negative points though! We lost it immediately - probably on the overnight flight over to our destination, but who knows. We realized the plane looked weird at some point and that there was supposed to be a propeller on it. Otherwise this is well-made and durable.

These are pricey but very well-made. I bought both this one and “My Busy Day” at the same time, but they come with a 15% off coupon for a future purchase so I wish I had waited to buy the second one. While the recommended age is 3+, I bought this for my 15-month-old, thinking he would grow into it and could at least do the Velcro things for now. He loves these and begs to get them down whenever he notices them, but he is definitely a bit too young. The Velcro is quite strong and the pockets are tight (both good things in a product like this so pieces don’t get lost!) so you tend to need two hands and he just doesn’t have the dexterity for it yet. That said, he loves to try, and he points to things and has me do them for him. He’s already getting better at several of the skills needed, so it’s good fine-motor practice (although I’m honestly surprised he doesn’t get more frustrated by it.) So, it’s not the solo entertainment I had hoped quite yet, but he loves them and I believe will continue to love them. I also have to check the whole book every time I put it away to make sure the pieces made it back to their spots, which is a little cumbersome for now. A note on the pieces and little ones - if you have a little who constantly puts things in his/her mouth, consider waiting. Mine listens well and hasn’t had the urge to put these anywhere near his mouth (probably because the parts that come out are just felt so nothing to gum) but it could certainly be a choking hazard if you’ve got a little gummer. I also have a particularly attentive little, but a more age-appropriate busy book for his age would probably have more to do on each page. We bought these for a flight because every toy we use on long car trips makes noise and we didn’t want to be murdered by our seat mates, and I think they will be great for that... as long as we can keep track of the pieces. We’ve already used them on a three-hour car trip that turned into a seven-hour car trip (thanks, blizzard) and they definitely saved us from meltdown territory. We did temporarily lose a piece that went over the side of the car seat. Since there is Velcro on the back of a lot of pieces, they’ll find creative spots to stick themselves in a car interior. :-|

This is a travel must have. When I pull this book out my son knows we are going on a trip. It’s soft and creative. There are a lot of little pieces to keep him entertained but also easy to lose them as well so be sure to keep up with them. Overall it’s great cause he uses it for imaginative play

I bought this for a 15 hour plane trip with my eighteen month old. While he played with it on the flight intermittently, as he gets older I find him really growing into the book and the activities. I liked the book when it first arrived. It's well made and has good activities relatable for a little person, but I must say, as time goes on and I see how my son plays with the book, the more I love it. He's just starting to talk and signals he wants to play with it with a "big ay!". He loves the tooth brush, zipping and unzipping the closet, putting his foot in the shoe and his all time favorite activity is the washing machine which he makes sound effects for. It's a beautiful book. I ordered two quiet books for the flight and this one, is by far the superior book. It has the largest range of activities and built in imaginative play. I'd definitely recommend it.

My 4 yr old loved this for a car trip and still plays with it at home as well. Great theme to each page although 1-2 pages weren’t as functional as others. Good quality.

Love this product for young children. Made with quality so can handle lots of use. Engaging and interesting for toddlers and even older children

Fantastic quality, is very well made. Cute activities. A bit advanced for my 16 month old now but he can enjoy parts of it already, like the zip and pulling off anything with Velcro. Will get even more benefit from it as he grows.

Delivery - fast Product - Just as in the photos. I ordered this to keep my daughter busy for when we dine out and it worked. She was so busy changing the clothes, putting the dog’s “collar” and pairing the numbers, etc. I did not bring it out until we had to use it so she doesn’t get bored with it and we don’t use it at home. I alternate it with other books as well but this one is just amazing! Worth it.
