For two persons sleeping in a three-person tent. Will this work for cooling the tent down and what is the best way to hang it?

It doesn't really cool it down per se, but it moves the air. I like mine and especially like the hum. I'm one of those that needs a little noise to sleep. Lol

Will this work in a 6x10 storm shelter

It's too small for more than one person, but the one I first bought was at a Coleman "Camp Center" in a mall on the island of Bali, and as long a I had batteries for every 18 hours of use on high it worked fine for me. I was in the most humid and salt filled air on Earth, and it lasted fine for me for three months+ in a mosquito tent in the Mentawai Islands, West of Sumatra right on the Equator (90+F' and 90%+ humidity). According to the surfer I gave it to, it lasted him another 6 weeks before he passed it onto another guy. I was so happy with the little breeze it provided to allow my sunburned husk some sleep in those still and humid nights that I bought this one for my 18 day trip down the Grand Canyon in a raft. Again, as long as you have the batteries, you will be stoked...or at least I was, so I guess I got lucky twice. I'd toss the magnet, it's just weak dead weight, and bring along either zip ties, or a carabiner.Best of luck with your situation and I hope you find comfort and safety soon...BTW, check my reviews and you can tell I'm a real person, not some paid reviewer. I don't know what kind of person thinks that this magnet is of a "decent strength", and as long as you change batteries things often continue to work. I will agree that 16-18 hours for 4 D-cell batteries is rather inefficient, but for me sleep is like gold, especially if not in your own bed.
