Westclox Keywound Analog Alarm Clock, Loud Bell Alarm, Manual Wind Up, No Batteries or Electricity Required (White, 4.5" x 4.25")

I wanted a small clock that would sit, unobtrusively, in a corner of my office. In meetings, it is considered rude to look at the wall clock or to look at your watch, as if the people you're meeting with are keeping you from something you'd rather be doing. I figured if I could position this little clock on a shelf somewhere, and surreptitiously glance at it during meetings, I could see the time without insulting my guests. I specifically wanted a wind-up clock because I don't like having to mess with batteries, or remember to plug things in to recharge, and wall outlets are at a premium in my office, so a plug-in was not in the cards. This clock fit the bill for me in every particular. A full winding of the clock sets it running for about 24=26 hours, so I only have to do it once a day. It ticks lightly, so it's not an obnoxious sound but actually rather soothing. There is an alarm function that I've never used, so I can't tell you how close or accurately you can set the alarm time. I keep the alarm "pointer" on 3:00, and the clock makes a loud click when it hits that mark. I kinda like that because it lets me know when there's about an hour left in my workday. The sweep second hand is a nice bonus feature. I didn't necessarily need one for my purposes, but it doesn't hurt anything and I sometimes use it to time things, like how long it takes one of my colleagues to get to the point. If I'm going to go into full quibble mode, I will say that toward the end of the 24 hour wind-up, the clock tends to gain a couple of minutes. No biggie for me, since I'm going to reset it when I rewind it anyway. There is a speed-adjusting slide on the back of the clock, but as with every clock like this that I've ever owned, messing with that slide only makes things worse. I nudged it ever so slightly in the "slower" direction, and then it noticeably lost much more time in the 24 hour period. I got it set back to where it had started and it's close enough for what I need. I don't consider this to really be a problem worthy of the loss of a star because, since you have to rewind the clock every day anyway, readjusting those couple of minutes is a no-brainer. All in all, I love this little clock, particularly for the price I paid. It does everything I need it to do and is as accurate a wind-up clock as I've ever had.

Didn't work Didn't keep time, even after using the time-adjustment lever. The knobs to set the hour time and the alarm time required a screwdriver to turn. Nice looking, but very light weight plastic housing. Did not feel or function like a quality product. The direction sheet was printed in China. The clock may be a China import. I think Amazon should state where products are made. Nice looking analog clock that was non-functional for me. Maybe someone else can make it work. Not me.

I've been using this little clock for a few months now, and it's just great. The alarm if very loud (which is why I bought this one, I'm a heavy sleeper), and it keeps good time. A couple of things to keep in mind: 1.) the instructions say to wind it once every 24 hours, but this is not workable since it dies at about 18 hours. The fix for this is easy, however, just wind it when you wake up and again when you go to bed (don't overwind it, stop when it gives resistance). 2.) the alarm is very loud and will wake up heavy sleepers (like me), but there is no snooze button, so if you are used to that, you will go back to sleep and only wake up on your own time (likely late for whatever it is you set the alarm for). I really like this clock and am glad that I bought it. A snooze feature would be great, but for the price and ease of use, it's a great little clock.

For the first two weeks it did not keep the correct time. Not sure if it had to be wound a few times until it finally was able to perform right. I wish it ticked a little louder, but then I’m hard of hearing so it’s probably just fine. I can’t sleep with my hearing aids though. I love the sound of a ticking clock

I own an almost 35 year old Baby Ben Westclox wind-up alarm clock. It's been dependable. It still works. But, my eyes don't work the same as they did 35 years ago when I bought the clock. The almost white luminescent numbers on the face of the clock, the almost white luminescent hands ... against the white background, the face is almost invisible to me. It was time to get a new clock. This Westclox wind-up alarm clock has clearly visible black numbers on the white face. The face of the clock is very big. It is easy to see the time on this clock. I am very happy with it. Unlike my old clock which clicks 4 times per second, this new clock has a deeper tick-tock 2 times per second. I hope it lasts as long as my other clock, but I doubt I'll be around in 35 years to verify it. It's important to note that I recently bought another brand clock here. It was total garbage. That alarm didn't work from Day 1. I returned it once for replacement, that didn't work either so I tossed it into the trash. I probably should have returned that one, as well. The bad clock had a push/pull alarm setting. This good one from Westclox has a left/right slide mechanism which I think will work better and last longer. It is the same as on my old clock. UPDATE: A few months later the clock just conked out. It would variably gain or lose time. Some mornings 45 minutes slow, some a few hours fast. Just turned into garbage.

Saw the name Westclox and price and thought I'd found a reliable and inexpensive alarm clock to replace mine that recently lost its hands. I have been very disappointed. The keys for winding are close together on back of clock, making finger placement tricky. I have a very difficult and painful time turning beyond 4 or 5 rotations before stopping. Then I wrap some cloth around key to make a few more turns. They get progressively harder to turn, but if you don't turn the key enough the clock will run down sooner than you expect. There is a slider to adjust the speed of the clock, but it slows down as the key winds down and you may need to readjust occasionally. There are etched arrows on back showing direction you must turn each key when winding. They are difficult to see. Would not recommend

I didn't find the clock sturdy. Also the clock was wound fully and yet it stopped in the middle of the night...hence we missed getting up in the morning as the alarm would not work. We felt so so relieved to send it away!

Very good product

Bought it for my mom that wanted an old school alarm clock. Made from the cheapest plastic in China this thing weighs almost nothing. It took me about 12 adjustments over 5 days to get the time running close to correct. I bought another click from a thrift store as well that was made in a country that hasn’t existed since 1992. I would put money on the thrift store click to outlast this thing. Update- Once I delivered both clocks to my mother this one was once again off by ten minutes over half a day. Quickly returned for a refund.

Waste of money and time

The description said "Loud bell clock". It is NOT LOUD at all, in fact it is a buzzer sound.
