Spec is approx. 32 lbs./bag. Have seen as much as 38 lbs. in a bag. (bagging company seems to be generous at times, but never see under 32#) No fun getting the overstuffed bags in a flat-rate box. :-)

can i use this, straight, as a mulch?

It’s not a mulch.... you want to mix it into the soil. It’s very fine and mixes well. I use it in all my potted plants and around the base of my plants in the ground.

I have 2 4x4 raised beds. Will one bad be enough for both beds?

Yes. What I have researched is 1pound of castings per 5 to 10 square feet. You have two 4x4 beds. That's 32 Square feet so you would need 6.4 to 3.2 pounds of worm castings. Hope this helps. Also add Rock dust, like Azomite to the beds. 1pound per 2 square feet or there aboutif you never used it before to remineralize your soil. Your vegetables will grow bigger and taste better!
