Is the mesh screen removable from the plastic and paper assembly like the original that came with the Bissell Pethaireraser?

I don’t know. I just took the old one out and popped in the new one. It performs perfectly.

The foam filter for fan is.....kind of looks like a screen?

How often do the filters need replacing? Isn't washing them enough?

You could definitely wash them but after a while it’s just easier to replace it and start fresh. I washed mine twice before I replaced it because a lot of the dirt and hair wouldn’t come out fully.
