Should I order half size up my regular Vans?

I found after several CB shoes that they fit pretty true to size. I stick with my normal street shoe size with these.

Some of the q&a answers said it runs small on the length. recommend ordering a half size up? the manufacturer's comments are also welcomed.

They fit fine for my 12 shoe size.

How about the width, compared to Vans?

I find them slightly more narrow that typical skate shoes, although not so much that I would change sizing. Remember, cycling shoes should fit snug.

Can hiking shoes do the job? For normal layman gravel riding...

For just beginning around town and some green trails and gravel? Sure, although hiking boots would be heavy so I would recommend just wearing some lightweight running type shoes, or even better skate style shoes like vans or DC. These are more for off road MTB, and yes, they make a difference for that due to their very grippy sole and rigid shank. But no reason to spend the cash on these if you are just getting into it. Do check the Amazon warehouse though… lots of great deals on MTB shoe returns when you are ready for some.
