We had the taller/narrower garbage can for 6 years until the motor gave up. It is really nice to have the auto-open when you're holding wet garbage, but it eventually died. What a bummer. So we ordered this one that works with the same bag size, but is a little shorter and wider. First impression is that it is really quiet. The old one had a loud motor that we got used to it over time, but this one is much quieter. It is also more sensitive which we don't mind. It's in the pantry so it doesn't trigger when we walk by. Being shorter than the old one, the bag doesn't need support from below which is better. There's a clip-on ring that secures the bag to the can which is a nice touch. We like that it is a plug-in garbage can so we don't have to deal with batteries. So far very happy with the purchase. I hope it lasts another 6 years if not longer.

I've had this trash can for nearly four years. It still works great! I love that I never have to worry about changing the batteries and that I have a hands free trash can while cooking. It does open sometime when I walk past it but that's just part of it's charm🤪 at least it's not wasting the battery life. I also enjoy that the trash bag is hidden. If I had one complaint I would say that it is difficult to keep it clean behind the lid opening.

Works great! I was able to tuck it in under kitchen counter so it is hidden. And the open/closing mechanism works seamlessly even though the kitchen counter is technically an obstruction just above it.
