Perfect for kitchen chocolate!
Finally, I can temper chocolate perfectly with inexpensive kitchen equipment! I've tried a few different types of analog thermometers, none were accurate or workable enough. Now I can finally create batches of wonderful chocolate for everyone that loves it. The concept is genius because the thermometer stays in the medium that you are working with constantly. I'm a little disappointed with the spatula itself, the material is pretty stiff so it doesn't clean the side of a bowl nicely. But otherwise this is an amazing kitchen tool. The thermometer is pretty accurate. If you test it by boiling water remember to add degrees for your elevation above sea level. 😉

Brilliant!
This candy thermometer integrated into a high-temperature spatula is a brilliant idea. So much simpler than any other candy thermometer I have used. There is no trying to awkwardly stir around a thermometer in the cooking pot & no trying to figure out the heck to attach a thermometer to the cooking pot. You simply stir the concoction as it heats & easily monitor the temperature at the same time. It’s also easy to read the temperature, which isn’t the case with some other candy thermometers. Most definitely recommend. I would buy again - in fact I already have purchased two.

Good product but no clear instructions on replacing the battery.
The product works as advertised. I do suggest that they provide written instructions on how to replace the battery. It is really a guessing game.

Love this spatula/thermometer
Makes it much easier to keep an eye on the temperature when making candy and toffee. No more guessing.

Spatula thermometer
Works as you use it

Fantastic - Just don't get it wet!
I love this spatula because the temperature display is part of the spatula, so I can stir my chocolate or candy with one hand and not have hold a thermometer in my other hand, or hang one on the pan. I can hold the pan with my left hand while stirring with my right. It's a dream. But the best feature is it does not auto-off after 5 seconds. Other thermometers I've used turn themselves off after 5 seconds to save the battery. That is crazy making when you're trying to cool chocolate to a certain temperature for pouring into a mold. This one stays on until you turn it off. I love that. But, don't get the part with the electronics wet. I did, and not a lot, but it stopped working and I had to buy another one. It still gets 5 stars because the manufacturer doesn't claim it's waterproof. So be careful!

The digital display didn't work
UPDATE: I found a solution if anyone really wants to make this idea work. I had bought a different digital thermometer for work, one with a very long probe. I stuck that thermometer's long probe through the removable spatula portion of the broken thermometer, and it works great! It's obviously not a very economical solution, but it does indeed work, and the display ends up at the very top of the spatula and I can read it comfortably as a lefty. Here's the link: https://a.co/d/fDfSHKA I love the idea of this. I'm a pastry chef and I've always found it tricky, messy, and inconvenient to use any kind of candy thermometer--the old-fashioned kind that clip to the pot get in the way of stirring, and the instant-read digital ones require you to stop stirring and insert the probe, then wait a few crucial seconds for it to register the temp. I thought there must be something like this and went on to Amazon to find it. I bought it to use at work, and at first it did work. I was slightly annoyed that the digital readout was upside-down to me because I'm left handed. I think they should have oriented it to read in an upright position rather than sideways. Then it stopped working and I couldn't get it to turn on. I went to change the battery but found that to do so I needed a tiny screwdriver, like the kind in an eyeglasses repair kit. Surely battery compartments shouldn't be so hard to get into. Changing the battery did nothing. I reached out to customer service and they sent me a new one, which worked for a time. I actually bought one for my daughter for Christmas. Then the other day I used it to heat up egg whites for a Swiss buttercream and it only showed the last digit of the temperature plus the right side of the second to last digit. The next day I went to my daughter's house to help her make chocolate caramels, and when she pulled out her version of this, it was dead. Would not turn on at all. I really wish this worked and was reliable.
