Love this trash can. We bought it for the bathroom and it’s the perfect size. The automatic opener works perfectly. Great choice.

I bought this to use as a diaper bin and it's been a true blessing. Even with it filled to capacity we only smell the nastiness for the brief moment the lid is open. Otherwise you'd never know the horrors that awaited inside lol! It's been running strong on the same batteries since I bought it. Bags are easy to replace and the removable bag ring is fantastic. With the top back on the bag is secure and completely concealed. I'm not sure how much the charcoal filter helps, but my main concern was odor when the can is closed, and for that purpose it works perfectly! As an added bonus the unit looks fantastic! Update: I've been using this daily for six months or so and it is a workhorse! Still running on the same batteries I purchased when I received it and blocking diaper odor just as effectively! Update: So, after working perfectly since last November, a couple weeks ago the lid decided to give up on me suddenly and completely! I figured the batteries had finally died, so I swapped in a fresh set and nothing happened. No light, no movement, nothing at all. I almost decided to just write it off, but figured I might as well try customer care. I sent them an email with a screen shot of my original order and description of the problem. To my pleasant surprise I got an email back within 24 hours with an incident number and instructions to call in for service. I called in thinking they were going to want me to send in the lid, but they surprised me by saying their policy had changed and I just had to pay a $9.95 service/shipping and handling fee and a new lid would be sent out. They didn't want the old one back at all. Since it would cost more than that to just ship the original lid in to them I had no issue paying the fee. About a week later I received my brand new lid! I really can'take say enough about the quality customer service I received from itouchless. It was all very simple and because of that I'm leaving my review at five stars! This includes a plug in option which is definitely better than relying on batteries only.

This is an awesome garbage can. We purchased two; one for garbage, one for recycling. The square shape makes them fit snuggly together. They look good, and are a perfect size for our kitchen. They work perfectly, when they work. We have had to repurchase about three new cans at full price because the top stops opening and cannot be fixed. You can't buy just the top, you have to buy a whole new unit. According to reviews, this is not uncommon, and mechanical people say the part that breaks is a plastic part that can't be fixed. This is such a a good garbage can that we have repurchased the whole thing several times, but we are now at our limit. Crossing our fingers that the latest two keep working.

I purchased this iTouchless automatic trash can around December 2023, attracted by the “premium” branding and nearly $100 price tag. Unfortunately, just over two years later—after very light, normal use—the unit has completely failed due to a catastrophic internal mechanical defect. This trash can is used in a two-adult household as a pantry trash can. It is opened only a few times per day, never forced open or closed, never abused, and operated exactly as intended. Despite this, the internal plastic drive gears in the motor assembly disintegrated and failed entirely. The lid began making loud grinding noises and would only intermittently function before becoming completely unusable. Upon disassembly, the cause was immediately obvious: the internal plastic gearing catastrophically failed. This is a sealed, non-serviceable assembly, meaning there is no repair option whatsoever. When I contacted iTouchless support and provided detailed photos and documentation I was told there are no repair parts available and that my only option was to purchase an entirely new lid assembly for approximately $50 (plus tax and shipping). On top of this, their agent Fernando continuously insisted that I abused the product and caused it to fail. To be clear: this is a nearly $100 trash can with a one-year warranty on a critical, non-repairable motor and gear system. Once that year passes, the product is effectively disposable. Customer support made no effort to meaningfully review the failure, offered no goodwill replacement, and dismissed the issue despite clear evidence of a materials or durability defect. If iTouchless intends for these products to last roughly two years under normal use, that should be clearly disclosed in the product listing. As it stands, buyers should understand they are paying a premium price for a product with disposable internals and minimal manufacturer support once the short warranty expires. I am leaving this review so future customers can make an informed decision. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you are comfortable replacing a $100 trash can every couple of years—or paying half the original price again just to keep it functional.

Like how the width is shorter than the length. Worked perfectly for where we needed it. If you do not purchase the AC adapter, make sure you have four "D" cell batteries. Sensor works great. Like the odor absorbing filter. Only had it a few days but we are happy with it so far. We ordered the white container and it works with our kitchen and uses standard 13 gallon bags.

After a nightmare eighteen months with a Morphy Richard* product I was reluctant to spend money again. I did a lot of research in reviews and this one was coming out ahead - although not the cheapest it was a good buy. It is several months down the line now (on transformer) - did not try batteries yet. The bin sensor is very good - it just works every time - closes very fast - seems to be less odor than usual. Bags are very easy to find and fit very well - plus inexpensive Very happy with this bin has not missed a beat
