Scholastic Peek-A-Boo, I Love You!

I bought a new copy of the book recently as a Christmas gift for 1-year-old neighbor because "Peek-a-Boo, I Love You!" has been a favorite of mine and my granddaughter's. My g-daughter (now 22 months) has enjoyed studying the cute illustrations and lifting the flaps to anticipate what character is going to say "Peek-a-boo" since she was a year old. We love the ending, when our girl lifts the last flap to see her own image in a mirror-like surface...This is a very sweet book. Eventually I'll need to buy a new one for our infant grandson because his sister has worn out her copy!

This book is hard for little kids to know which way the flap is supposed to open...sometimes it opens from top to bottom or side to side...so as soon as my son tried to flip it he ripped it a bit...and a bit more...now it's completely destroyed. I tried to salvage some flip pages by re-inforcing them with clear sticky plastic sheets, but why not make it like that in the first place??

This book was a favorite of BOTH of my girls. Perfect for a first book as your child is wanting to turn pages and lift flaps. The last page has a flap which opens up to reveal a reflective surface (like a mirror) and they get to see themselves (and sometimes you in it if you position yourself right). This was such a delight for both of my girls. They both loved opening that flap over and over again. I highly recommend!

Bought them for the grandkids for Valentine’s Day and they loved them

Bought this to replace a one my toddler had ripped and worn out. This was her favourite book, however this version does not include a mirror on the last page! That was the best part!
