Good product.
Very good product, arrived nicely packed. Includes a wire holder, which was a surprise. Overall works perfectly. After 2 years of use the whole surface of the iron had cracked, not sure about the cause of it, as it suppose to be resistant to hot temperature. Also to find the filter was quite a challenge and expense.

Great steamer, very poor reliability and service
If you want to enjoy ironing (no jokes), this very expensive toy takes it to the next level. It makes it quick and easy. However, reliability and service support are well below any Tefal or other mass market products. And you have to buy a decalc cartridges subscription. An average lifespan of this gadget is 16-24 months.

This iron is pricey, but the best I've ever owned! It reduces my ironing time. I have 1 problem though - 18 months in and it has stopped working. It won't turn on at all. It must be a connection/electrical malfunction. I cannot find a number or email to contact the seller since I bought it off Amazon. Please help me.

In early 2020 I was persuaded to spend what is an astronomical sum for an iron. Was told it would be transformational and would last “forever”, compared to the high street brands that seem to die after a couple of years. Well, it was a good iron, better than most I’ve tried for the basic job of getting creases out. The cost of electricity and water filters are, however, substantial additions to the headline price. Laurastar maintain that only tap water+their own brand filters are acceptable. None of that stopped the brown spitting water appearing after 3 years of pretty average use. Since the water tank is supposedly stainless steel I can’t work out how anything brown could be generated. Descaling the boiler improved things enough to limp on but eventually I was rewashing half the laundry to get the brown marks out. So I contacted Laurastar and found the only way to access repairs is to pay a hefty fee and send it to them in Switzerland. No YouTube “teardowns” or repair videos or other useful information online to help identify the likely cause of and fix for what appears to be a common issue. There is one unaffiliated repair company in London who get mixed reviews and whom Laurastar seem to attack publicly via review sites. I may try them because it’s either another £70 or just chuck it away after 5 years. A replacement is now £200 more than I paid in 2020, so it would not be happening even if I felt like handing over another penny to Laurastar. Which I don’t. Overall it is overrated and poor value for money.

After having standard steam irons we decided to get something a bit better. Purchased the Laurastar as love the design and the fact it has a filter built in. The iron itself is very heavy and took a little getting used to however this was soon outweighed with the results. Irons out difficult creases with ease. One thing that isn’t great is the design of the water reservoir, it’s difficult to get on and off especially when full. Could do with a handle like a bucket as this would make refills a little earlier.

I absolutely love this iron, it is quick, efficient, neat, easy to transport and the envy of all my ironing friends. I would have been the first to recommend a Laura Star having been a user but not owner for years. However, I was not aware of the need to buy filters for it which, in my opinion, are very expensive. The iron itself is not a cheap fix but an investment but £40 plus for 3 filters is an additional ongoing expense that I hadn’t accounted for. I wouldn’t buy again for that reason

My new maid recommended this product. But she keeps moaning to me to buy a new filter. So I guess this expensive item is more expensive than you think for maintenance. Her ironing is no better than my last maid who had been using a £30 iron.
