Ignition work, but buttons don't? Some soldering and this will restore functionality.
Perfect fit to replace the last one that lasted about 18 years. Good price and our fob now lasts for the button functions. Easy to install if you're at all handy with a soldering iron, don't lose the tiny RFID capsule, and remember that batteries are never "off" when installing.

Perfect solution for a BMW diamond key replacement.
I needed to replace the battery in my "supposedly non serviceable" BMW key fob. After some research on "YouTube University" this battery appeared to be a good choice for a replacement. Upon receiving it, I carefully inspected and compared it to the original battery and it was as I could tell was a good match. Soldered it in place and went through the reprograming procedure and presto! I once again had a fully functional key fob for my car. Perfect.

A Perfect and Easy DIY Battery for the R53 Key Fob
I purchased this replacement battery for my 2006 Mini Cooper S R53 key fob. My original fob stopped working, and I thought I would have to buy a whole new one. I was so happy to find this battery. Even though I have zero experience with soldering, the installation was surprisingly easy to do on my own. It was a perfect fit, and my key fob works like new again.

Not a great replacement for BMW key battery
So I bought this battery to replace the OEM battery in my non-comfort access BMW key. I found that the prongs weren't well aligned (even though they were both 90 degree) and I had to bend them to make the battery fit on the board. From there, I realized that the prongs stuck out from the battery quite a ways before they narrowed to the size that could fit through the slots on the board. Due to this the battery stuck out form the board much farther than the OEM battery. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to close the key case, but I got it done. Once I took it to the car, the fob still didnt work.. Battery was dead I believe

Works fine
Besides the legs being a little to long it worked perfectly for my 2011 328i key fob

BMW diamond key fob battery replacement.
Old battery must be desoldered, and the new battery must be soldered in. Will need a soldering iron. Not difficult if you have some circuit board component replacement experience. Opening the BMW diamond key fob was a bit challenging since you have to use a sharp knife or blade to carefully crack open. YouTube has good tips on how to change the battery.

Tight fit in a 2002 325 xi key fob
My replacement was fairly easy however 2 days later my remote still doesn’t work. Hoping it needs more driving charging time. It didn’t work before so I didn’t gain or lose anything besides a few bucks and my time. Here’s how I did it. 1. Cut key fob apart. Very hard to do. Be careful. Don’t cut deep as there is a circuit board inside. 2. Remove old battery by heating up the solder on the opposite side of the battery one at a time. Have tension on the prong side the battery is on so when the solder liquifies on the backside you can pull it through. It happens fast so be ready. Don’t over do it with heat and possibly wreck your board. once you have one side done, move onto the other and remove it and the battery should come out. 2. Position your new battery into position under the circuit board so the prongs are lined up with the solder. Once again, heat up the solder while slightly pushing the prong of one side into the solder. As soon as it liquifies the prong will push through quickly. Seat it as far in as possible as it is a tight fit when you try to get your fob put back together. Repeat on the other side. 3. Super glue the fob back together. Put a small weight on it while it dries. 4. Put key in ignition to charge and go for a ride. I don’t know if it will charge just sitting there in the ignition without the car running. 5. Celebrate when you find out it works or hang your head when nothing happens. Good luck. Be careful cutting your Fob open! FYI. I once had my circuit board all the way out of my Fob and tried to use the key without it being inside and my car would not turn over. I reinstalled the circuit board (That had no battery in it) and it started. So…..if you mess up or break your circuit board, you will have a bigger problem.

This was my 2nd order. Received on time. Indispensable for the older BMW remote keys with battery terminals soldered on to the board. [Note: After soldering this new battery on, reset the remote by pressing the 'lock' and 'unlock' buttons together, along with the lock button on the dash. The remote won't work otherwise.]
