I have the large Whirlpool 28 cu ft fridge/freezer, and after the initial water filter expired tried replacing it with a filter from Amazon and also from Home Depot, both with the same result. Neither filter worked with the PPD was the same level as from my main water faucet (unfiltered). My handyman installed a 6 step 3/8" filter unit and this ice-maker kit to pipe the filtered water to my fridge/freezer. The 3/8" size supplies sufficient pressure without a pump. Install looked straight-forward and if I didn't have a bad back could probably have done it myself.

So far so good. I purchased two of these, one for our downstairs kitchen and another for the upstairs coffee bar and kitchen. They appear to be very well constructed and the output pressure is phenomenal. The upstairs one also feeds an undersink ice maker. If you have a case, like I did, where you are needing to connect to raw copper pipes, I'd suggest going with a Sharkbite Dual Compression Outlet Angle Stop Valve, as it is far more robust that the adapter parts I tried to use that came with the unit which I couldn't ever get to seal properly on my downstairs kitchen. The upstairs kitchen, no problems with drips or leaks. I'd love this company to include a 3rd party water assessment post install - prepaid - so one could verify the exact quality of the water coming out of their RO units.

There were comments in previous reviews that the package did not have the insert and the sleeve (see first 2 figures). My package had everything. I also checked the length of the tubing and it was exactly 20 feet long. All you need is a knife to cut the tubing where you would add the Tee. The instructions on the back of the package was good. Also, I specifically chose this package since the tubing was NFS certified (National Food Safety) and it was clearly marked on the white tubing. This means that the tubing meets the NSF lab standards for food safety. This point was not clear on other packages that were offered on the Amazon website.

I love this filter system. is the best idea when I order this !! it saves me a lot of money. I stop spending money buying water in bottles at the store. and this water I do a test and is better than any water brand that you will see at stores.
