This is the one brand that we've used consistently on my maltipoo since he was a puppy and he is now 6 years old. Other brands always caused him discomfort because they irritate his skin and he keeps scratching himself. This one doesn't do that at all. He has gotten fleas once, but we took him to the vet, gave him a flea bath, and that was the end of that. Last summer, there was a particularly strange and horrific outbreak of ticks in the neighborhood, which was highly unusual because we live in the suburbs of California and had never even seen a real life tick before. Because my dog has white fur, I noticed some black things crawling on his body after a neighborhood walk and immediately knew they were ticks. Everytime he came back from a walk, we'd check his body meticulously and find between 1-5 mostly crawling around on him, but sometimes embedded in his skin. Those ticks terrorized my poor dog and family for a month and suddenly disappeared completely. Unfortunately, some did bite and latch on to my little guy so I can't say with certainty that this product works 100% of the time to prevent ticks. Overall, two occurrences out of the many years we've used this product successfully seems like pretty good odds. We still use this product to this day.
