Patriot Burst Elite 480GB SATA 3 2.5 Inch SSD

I replaced the HDD on a used HP laptop with this drive and it works like never before. It is fast, loads programs well and has completely revitalized this laptop. Prior to installation this PC laptop was hard to boot and when it did was extremely slow.

I bought this as a small, cheap, low power boot drive for a beige-box GNU/Linux server. It did the only thing that is unforgivable for that application, it totally failed after a little over a year's worth of use. I get that it was only $30, but still.... like... I wouldn't have cared if it was smaller or slower, but just quitting like it did. TF? Not cool. Edit: So... It is now being revealed that there is a bug in systemd-journald that writes some 10x more data to the drive than what should be expected or reasonable. The REALLY cool part is it could have been fixed some 6 years ago, but the dev(s) was/were/are super toxic and hostile to the person reporting it. Debian 13 (among other distros) has systemd-journald log's storage set to persistent by default... that's what exposed the bug and killed my SSD. So... my bad I guess Patriot.

I purchased the Patriot Burst Elite 120GB SSD to use as a dedicated drive connected to my ASUS router running ASUSwrt-Merlin, primarily to store and run various scripts. I've been thoroughly impressed with its performance in this role! The speed of this SSD has made a significant difference in the execution time of my scripts. Tasks that previously took noticeably longer on a USB drive now complete much faster and more efficiently. This has really streamlined my home automation and network management processes. Setting it up through the ASUSwrt-Merlin interface was a breeze, and the router has had no issues recognizing or working with the drive. Good budget SSD. Added to my older Dell laptop for a Linux experimantal build. Works great. Transfer speeds are pretty fast. Especially nice for the money.

This was an easy way to increase speed on an older computer. It works well with the target system.

Decent drive for 11$

Cheap, quiet, reliable, etc. I have been refurbishing old computers and this is a solid option to get them moving again without breaking the bank! They boot fasterun faster, and have tons more storage. It's crazy how far storage comes.

Worked on an old laptop that ran Win7, the added speed is much welcomed. No issues with drivers or performance. Works as it should.

Comprei esse HD em outubro de 2023,estava atendendo perfeitamente. Agora em junho de 2024,8 meses depois, ele deu defeito. Tentei todos os recursos de reparo do windows 10 e nenhum resolveu, indicando um problema de hardware do HD. Ou seja, não durou nem um ano.

These are excellent if you need a cheap replacement SSD, can't beat the price of these. They're basic but they work
