Polysorbate 20 is an essential oil emulsifier agent as well as a solubilizer. Polysorbate 20 is a non-ionic surfactant that acts as a gentle, non-irritating emulsifier. It consists of laurate esters of sorbitol consisting of the monoester condensed with ethylene oxide (polyoxyethylene-20 sorbitan monostearate). It is soluble in water and insoluble in oils. Body washes, hair shampoos, lotions, creams, bath oils, and solubilizers. Yellow liquid no or weak odor. HLB Value: 16.7 (gives oil-in-water emulsions), pH: 5 - 7 (5 - 10 % aqueous solution). Polysorbate 20 cosmetic is often used in cosmetic products as an emulsifier. Polysorbate 20 organics used in all-natural bath bombs, preservatives for lotion and soap making, and preservatives for cosmetics. It lubricates and has a soothing effect on the skin.
