Lacie Externe Festplatte

Stupid blue light that wont stop flashing!
I am not in love with it and I'll tell you for why. Firstly the good bits, it's solid, feels great, nice weight and it sits perfectly on my desk. I love the look of it. It's smart, looks professional and by being vertical doesn't take up too much room next to the computer. I don't really know about speeds but it seems to back up quickly compared to the other harddrives I have used before. Definitely quicker than some of the more portable harddrives. Size wise, it's perfect for what I need, although cost wise it was a lot higher per TB of data than some other models and brands I found. But I trust Lacie as I've used Lacie rugged's before. Now to my main issue, and it's such a little issue but I absolutely hate it. There is a blue light on the front, not a big deal, and while I was backing up files it flashes which I liked because I knew at a glance that it was working away behind the scenes. Now that those backups have finished, I want it to just sit next to my computer, waiting for new files to be added and to be plugged in and ready. However, even when there is nothing happening, this stupid blue light just keeps flashing, all day, all night, nonstop. Even when the harddrive is not in use. Now I can simply disconnect it from the computer or turn it off at the mains but that defeats the entire point of having this sat next to the computer ready to go. And I also have a cloud based back up that is constantly monitoring for new files and doing an extra back up in the cloud. So now I'm disconnecting it after using it. So annoying just for something so stupid but for £400+ I wanted it to work as I expected and not cause me a headache. Both mentally but with the flashing bright light all day physically too!

Great Hard Drive for Professionals
You will pay a little more for a Lacie hard drive but you will get a well built drive with high capacity that will last for years. I've tried others but will now only buy Lacie. I do demanding video and photography with large files so Lacie drives fit the bill.
