Just bought 2 litre Hawkins pressure cooker having still got (and using) 10 1/4 pint (5.8 litre) Hawkins pressure cooker of my late mother's. The original Hawkins was made in England rather than the current model made in India. Pressure cookers are not so common in the U.K. nowadays, I suppose, like me, you have to be brought up using one. Their 22 litre (4 8 imp. gallon) model looks awesome! I bought the 2 litre model as it is ideal for one person, I still keep the 10 1/4 pint one as it is large enough to sterilise jars and bottle fruit. I had another Indian model, a Butterfly Elite but unfortunately my Mk 1 model was superseded by Mk 2 and I can no longer obtain rubber seal. It appears from the paperwork supplied with my new Hawkins there is a large dealer network and spares seem readily available. If you haven't tried pressure cooking I can thoroughly recommend it and there are no end of recipe sites available on the internet. Also I must say how quick the delivery was all the way from India.
