I sell about 300 string instruments a year, many are lower priced Chinese beginner violins. I have found that well over 75% have pegs that slip. Up until the time that I began to apply these peg drops to every beginner or fractional sized violin, viola or cello I sold I would get far to many calls complaining about slipping pegs. Now I apply them to every instrument I sell except high grade instruments with properly tapered and fitted pegs. The complaints about slipping pegs have stopped. What will never stop is buyers who know nothing about violins who think a three hundred dollar violin should sound like a two million dollar Strad, or private teachers who expect parents to spend thousands on an instrument that their child will either outgrow or give up in a year. That's my rant for today. But really I would not suggest using these of high end instruments but for the average beginner low priced or intermediate level Chinese violin, viola or cello a pound of prevention is well worth it, and I don't have to deal with screaming parents on the phone, I buy six bottles at a time to be sure I don't run out, especially in back to school busy selling season ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ CanNot say how good this product is *by F***O on Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2015* I have a poor quality cello. [truly better than nothing, but *maybe* school grade] For YEARS I have been fighting the A string peg. I have a fine tuner for each string. Before I could play, I'd have to release the A string finer tuner all the way and then fiddle [haha] with the A string peg for ten minutes to bring the string into tune. VERY frustrating. Saw this product and thought, well, it's not that expensive so if it doesn't work....and ordered it. Let it sit on the counter a day or two, truly had no hope that it would help.Ued it this afternoon, instructions are very easy to follow. I am typing with tears in my eyes I am so thrilled, it starts working within minutes. The instructions say it will continue to work. I just played for a half hour and did not have to stop and play with the fine tuner, the A string is still in perfect pitch. I AM THRILLED. Use SPARINGLY! *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2019* I was having problems with slipping pegs on my cello - particularly the C & G strings. A bit with the D. The A was good. A few drops as advised and all was better for many months. But it seems that over the course of the summer my D peg has permanently set itself in place. I can't imagine (though I admit no specific recollection) that I used too many drops on the D peg. It wasn't my worst offender. (For what it is worth I live in New England and the dryness of winter is cruel to all my instruments. They preferred the southern U.S. climate. Humidipacks and cases required in the dry months.)I tried gently tapping the peg out with a padded punch and rubber mallet. No luck. I covered the peg head with a towel and tried to use a vice clamp to turn in the direction of releasing the string. The peg head began to shear and shred. In the end, my wood working friend helped me remove the stuck peg via hacksaw, drills, rasp, files, and dental pick! Since I am down one peg I am considering moving over to the very modern planetary geared pegs.
