Vintorio Citadel Wine Decanter - Artisanally Hand Blown Lead-Free Crystal Glass - Premium Red and White Wine Carafe Set with Aerating Punt and Silicone Stopper

After searching for the perfect housewarming gift for a friend, I found this decanter at the recommendation of my roommate ( a wine lover and self-proclaimed sommelier). My friend is quite a fan of red wine so I thought this would really step her game up from the nightly [pinot] noir. My first assessment was the packaging which was very nice (tasteful) and very protective, oh, and did I mention it arrived IN A DAY!. The lifetime guarantee was a nice touch as well. The hardest part for me was sifting through the bountiful array of decanter options, but after a bit of research as well as reading some of the more thorough reviews, I decided on this one. The rubber stopper it came with seemed a little unnecessary to me but I can see how this might be useful for storage. Overall, I was very impressed with this decanter and happy with the purchase. I know my friend loves it too! I will definitely be checking out some other products Vintorio offers with the holiday season fast approaching and my big Italian family popping bottles like it's their job!

First, no decanter is going to be easy to clean. Get used to it. Rinse it out, pour the water out, get up the next morning and pour the water out again. There is really no easy way to clean or dry any decanter. Now for the good stuff. This is a big decanter. A standard 750ML bottles of wine will not fill it to the widest point of the decanter, two bottles would probably do it perfectly, but I haven't tried it yet with two bottles of wine. Maybe when the covid crap is done, I'll have friend over to see. The glass is good and thick, which I think is a good thing. Seems to be very well made and with the punt, it's easy to handle with two hands. I've hit the rime with a couple of bottles and have not chipped it, but it is glass after all, so be careful. I'm very happy with it, and would buy it again.

I have some older wines that seemed to have lost a bit of their character. So I went on the hunt to find a way to bring out the flavor in my wines. I looked at a number of decanters and picked this one. It's great. The shape is super and works super well. It is easy to grip and pour. I was surprised how little of it is filled up by one full wine bottle. You could put a couple bottles in there! It is probably bigger than it needs to be, but it is a beautiful glass piece. It is easy to clean. I highly recommend it.

The shape is perfect. Others are similar, I'm sure. But the divot in the bottom which, if inclined, you can use to position your hand for pouring and the amount of space available for the wine to sit "spread out" is the best of all the other choices. Quality of product - its heft, clear bubble free glass, and overall feel is really nice. The stopper is perfect - fits, and is a heavy duty rubber that fully settles into the top opening. Nice that it's not some stupid golf ball or globe - just a tasteful, classy black unadorned rubber stopper. Get the aerator from this same brand - exceptional !
