The book is very well written in simple langiage that can be understood by anyone. Good linked examples and summary at end of every chapter is amazing.

Inspiring and helpful short book on how the worst ship became the best ship. Each chapter on problems and solutions ends with management tips. You can always ignore the latter if not interested but the first are excellent. Well worth reading.

Aan de hand van leuke anekdotes neemt de auteur je mee in de transitie van een gedemotiveerde groep naar een goed functionerend team. Hoe laat je je team zelfstandig werken zonder 'de controle' te verliezen? Elke hoofdstuk wordt afgesloten met praktische tips of beschouwingen die je zelf kan doen. De situaties zijn herkenbaar voor elke corporate/enterprise (werk)omgeving. Dus ondanks de self-help component, is het ook gewoon een leuk boek om te lezen.

Change, Transformation und Leadership, Themen, die mich im Alltag immer begleiten, aber die Literatur ist dazu meist theoretisch und in der Praxis nur schwer umzusetzen. "Turn the ship around" ist aufgrund der nuklearen Ausstattung nicht unbedingt näher an meinem Alltag, aber es zeigt, dass die Prinzipien überall funktionieren können. Lässt sich gut lesen, die paar Seiten (~ 200) sind in wenigen Stunden verschlungen. Gut geschrieben und für mich absolut spannend. Dazu tatsächlich im Alltag umgesetzt, ich mag Erfahrungsberichte und dieser war fesselnd und lehrreich.

Nei miei 16 anni nelle Risorse Umane ho sempre sentito scuse per non delegare perchè il proprio lavoro era troppo importante. Se il comandante di un sottomarino nucleare americano ha trovato il modo per non prendere più alcuna decisione e dare potere decisionale ai suoi riporti può farlo anche qualsiasi manager in azienda o imprenditore. Pieno di consigli pratici e storie che ti aiutano a capire come passare dalla dinamica del controllo a quella della delega e dell''empowerment. Mi è stato utilissimo nella mia vita da manager per capire tutte le cose che sbagliavo e per intuire come dare responsabilità e fare crescere le persone che lavoravano con me. Purtroppo non l'hanno mai tradotto in italiano, ma vale lo sforzo di leggerlo in inglese (comunque usa un linguaggio semplice). Un must have
