Alpha JX2 a solid choice for a bidet
Bought this to replace a brondell swash 1000 that quite working after a couple years. The brondell was the second of 2 I have had in this bathroom. I have 2 other brondell's (different model) in other 2 bathrooms. I have liked the way the brondell 1000 works but it seems the swash 1000 instantly stops working after a while--water starts a trickle then nothing. The last one I took apart and tried to fix but to no avail. The 1000 is expensive and works well till it breaks and frankly it should last much longer at its price point. So, that led to the change of brand. This Alpha JX2 was easy to install since I've installed multiple seats at this stage. Very straight forward install. The bracket that installs on the toilet before you slide the actual seat on is a little less robust than the Brondell and it doesn't have release buttons like the Brondell, but it was not an issue. I may have to loosen the plastic bolts securing that bracket when it makes sense to clean around the back and under the mount, but that is a minor thing to do. The Alpha works very well--certainly as well as the Brondel. The build quality, fit, finish, appearance and remote are all every bit as nice as the Brondell. The Alpha has a nite lite which is nice as well. The swash 1000 has no nite lite. I have lesser expensive brondells in two other bathrooms and they have nite lites. Really not a must have but the lite on this Alpha is a nice touch. If the other Brondell's break, I'd probably consider both brands unless this Alpha shows better long term reliability BUT I would not buy the Brondell at a much higher price point. Finally---I have well water with a very good softner and charcoal filter but I am at least aware that well water might affect these things and could have been the Brondell's undoing. Even so, I could replace the Alpha again if it fails and still be under the price of the Swash 1000.

I couldn't just let my wife get all the enjoyment. First the pros
First-time bidet owner here! Did lots of research into purchasing the right bidet, knowing that it is more of an appliance than it is anything else. I actually purchased this item for my wife because she marveled at the bidet she used when we recently went to eat at a sushi restaurant. Seeing the giant grin on her face after that experience, I just had to purchase one for the home. I wanted something that wasn't going to break the bank, but also something that was not a low-quality budget item, because when it comes to bidets, you really get what you pay for. Of course, once it arrived, I couldn't just let my wife get all the enjoyment. First the pros, in no particular order: - I love that the seat warms. Nothing worse than sitting on a cold-ass toilet seat - It really does have never-ending warm water, and you can adjust the temperature setting to your liking - The nozzle is adjustable using the remote, so no need to worry about it not hitting the right spot (so long as you're not sitting too far forward or back on your seat) - The remote is really handy, so that you don't have to fumble around with the seat itself. The remote comes with a holder that can be mounted on the nearest wall or location for easy access. - The water pressure is adjustable and there's definitely enough pressure as required. - The night light is more useful than you think. No need to use the bathroom light at all during the night hours. - Installation was very easy, especially considering there's a step-by-step youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37GKUNysjGU) - The Easy Wash function makes it... well.... easy to wash-up using a single button press. And now, the cons: There aren't any! But if I were forced to come up with something.... - The drying function is nice, but relatively useless. Still need to use some toilet paper to dab away the water, unless you want to sit for an additional 3 minutes to wait for the heated dry function. I prefer to just dab, and walk. Or occasionally, dab, sit, and let the heated air dry me more completely because, hey, why not slow down and enjoy the function every once in a while since it's there. - If you find that the nozzle position needs to be adjusted, you'll have to adjust it each time you use the seat (or adjust how you sit) because it does not remember where it was last positioned. But adjusting the nozzle is a single easily accessible button press on the remote. Nowhere near a deal breaker, but it's good to know this so as not to be surprised. So there you have it. I can't compare this bidet to other bidets on the market because this is the first one I've ever used and owned. But I am very happy with my purchase. Been using it for a good 3 months now. I should also note that the instructions say that the bidet needs to be connected to a GFCI outlet. Also, you have to plug it in somewhere and most bathrooms do not have an outlet located right behind or near the toilet, so you'll have to consider that. I was going to hire an electrician to install an outlet near my toilet because mine is in a room all by itself with no outlet available. But the cost was going to be a couple hundred more than the bidet itself. No thanks! I simply plugged an extension cord in the nearest outlet and dressed it along the wall and to the toilet. If you want to do something similar, I have pictures to give an idea. The bathroom outlet is already on a GFCI circuit, so I'm covered there. I'm not an electrician, so I'm not advocating that you do the same as I did unless you consult a qualified electrician, but it worked out in my case and saved me a great deal.

Worth the money!
The Alpha JX2 is an excellent bidet seat! I also have a Bio Bidet BB-1000 which does have the strongest spray when set to "Vortex," in my opinion. But that setting is intended for constipation which the BB-1000 handles well. The rear spray on the jx2 is quite strong for cleaning and does the job. The spray feels more like a wide spray than a narrow stream, but it targets where it needs too. I've actually set the intensity one bar below max and usually do two cycles. I follow up with two cycles of the dryer, also set one bar below max, and I'm clean and dry. I also really like the "mist spray," that I use both before and after doing my business and I find that really helps to keep the bowl clean. Seating is comfortable, the night lite works great and the remote is easy to hold and use. All the features of the jx2 work really well and I'm very happy with this purchase!!

Satisfied with purchase
Having surgery so thought i would get this to simply things. Never had one before. Works well. Instant warm water. Dryer works well. Front wash taint a front wash unless you move back a bit. Definitely helps you feel cleaner. Grateful i had this week as our hot water heater is out so this helped keeping clean easier. It works okay but for the price would have expected a backlit remote and a few more bells and whistles. Instead you have to turn the light on. It was easy to install. The seat slides around and we tighten it and it loosens again which is frustrating for us girls. Overall it works as advertised but wish i had looked around a little more before pulling the trigger to get more bang for my buck. Update- this has held up well. Still working as good as the day we got it. Got one for my daughter that was a little less expensive but big difference in value so I appreciate the brand a little more. Water still toasty and drying working well. Never had one before but learned to flush before drying. Only issue almost year later is one of the front bumpers on the seat is broke down and I can’t find where to replace. Due to seat moving around which finally stopped. Will keep looking for bumper. Quality is definitely above average.

There are only a few great moments in life… buying your first bidet is one of them
I bought this because toilet paper alone started feeling like caveman technology, and my stomach doesn’t always respect my life choices. Truth be told, I bought it because I was having an hemorrhoidectomy. First impression: Packaging was solid, instructions were surprisingly clear, and the build quality felt legit and not claiming to be some futuristic space age plastic that will solve all the world's issues. Installation was easier than expected. If you can tighten bolts, nuts and connect one waterline you’re good to go. I’ve been using it daily (sometimes… urgently), and so far the warm water, heated seat, and adjustable spray have completely changed the bathroom experience. Once you get used to it, going without feels wrong...like downgrading from Wi-Fi to dial-up. What I like most is the warm water on demand and the seat heater. Cold toilet seats should be illegal, and this thing understands that. The spray pressure is adjustable and actually effective, not just a polite splash. It zlxo has a nice night light. That said, it’s not perfect. The dryer works, but let’s be honest — you’re still probably using a little toilet paper unless you have the patience of a monk. Also, the remote feels slightly overqualified for what it’s controlling. Overall, I’d recommend this to anyone curious about bidets, first-time users, or anyone who values cleanliness and comfort. Probably not for people who hate technology or refuse to plug things in near their toilet. Bottom line: Once you use it, regular toilets feel like betrayal. Your booty will thank you! FYI...you don't need a hot water line because it has an on-demand water heater built inside the seat. Buy it, you won't regret it, I promise.

Not Perfect, But Pretty Darn Good
This is my 1st bidet seat and, really, my 1st bidet experience. Conclusion: where’ve you been all my life? I did my research and determined that the JX2 was the one to try. I’ve been using it for a solid 6 months now, and I’ve gotten quite used to it. I’m disappointed if I have to use the other bathroom now. The JX2 was part of a comprehensive bathroom renovation. My fist mistake was going with a round instead of elongated commode bowl. There are a few reasons for this, but suffice it to say, I definitely recommend the elongated over the round, if you have the choice. The beeping: yes, there is a faint “beep” when I sit down (and, I think, also when I stand up.) This can be turned off by plugging in the JX2 while depressing a button on the seat. I’ve found that the house power invariably gets interrupted within days of me doing this, though, and when it comes back on, the seat defaults to beeping again. So, I’ve just gotten used to the beeping. This one’s not that loud. (But it’s still dumb that it beeps. Who needs a toilet seat that beeps? Everything beeps these days. It’s maddening.) The bidet-ing itself is pleasant and effective overall. Sometimes I run concurrent cycles, just to be sure. I recommend pressing the bidet button twice, which gets the wand to do a slight, back-and-forth, scrubbing motion. It was interesting to me to experience changing the water temperature on-the-fly. You push the temp button and that water temperature instantly changes. Speaking of, Alpha should be able to figure out a way to have the initial blast of water be as warm as the rest of it, because it ain’t. It is ALWAYS frigid-cold, just for a second, long enough to make me make a face, and then it’s pleasant. One thing I have noticed recently, temperature-wise, is that the water isn’t always as warm as it was. Maybe my wife is fidgeting with the temp control (which I doubt because she likes everything hotter than I like it), or maybe it’s because the incoming water is much colder than it was in the summer and fall. Regardless, I’ve had some cooler than expected bidets this winter. My wife has complained that, although the wand’s position can be adjusted, she still can’t get it to move far enough forward to be useful in the female application. I have had the same issue at the opposite end. When I’m ready to bidet, even after I draw the wand back as far as it will go, I still have to scoot a little “too” forward on the seat to feel optimally situated. Here is where the elongated bowl and seat (as opposed to the round) could have solved a lot. The drying feature could get warmer faster, which I think would help it not to take so long. I don’t feel the warmth (which could be warmer) until it’s at least a third of the way into its cycle, maybe half way. Before that, it’s just like a cool breeze. It gets high marks for aim though, good aim, just slow to dry. My wife likes the heated seat function, though I could do without it. We both like the night-light feature. I don’t even have to turn the bathroom light on in the middle of the night anymore. I can see everything I need to see. If I was to suggest anything to Alpha, like if they asked me, I’d maybe recommend a model with a throttle on the side, like driving a boat, something you could pull back on to crank up the water pressure. I’d buy that (and maybe a Captain’s hat to wear with it).

Unit Failed in 3 months...
First of all, this Bidet just set in the box unopened for almost three months after I bought it while my entire house was being renovated. I was finally able to install the bidet and use it when two or so months later the water jet went from a comfortable and effective spray amount to what I would consider just a little more than a drip system. BidetKing wants me to pay to ship the item back to them to get it fixed. At one point Bidetking asked if I wanted them to ship me a part and i fix the unit myself. This is assuming I received the actual part that is faulty. I declined as I didn't think this would be a good idea. Items under warranty should only be worked on by the warranty contractors. This way the company can't claim the the owner in anyway did something to void the warranty. That's when cordiality starts to break down and the parties become hostile. BidetKing tech support had me run through a few troubleshooting efforts, but to no avail. And, they won't send me an exchange unit. The Bidetking warehouse is in El Monte, CA, which is approximately an hour and twenty minutes south of me. I offered to drive the item down to them. We'll see if the issue is so simple that they can fix it while I am there and hand it back over to me. My wife and I have always had simple cold water type bidet in the past. We had them for years and not one of them ever broke on us in any way. We are really disappointed with this Alpha JX, given what this bidet cost. I hope we won't regret this purchase, considering we've put one in every bathroom in our house. I will write an update to this review depending on how that goes. By the way, the unit is very easy to installed. But, what good is that if it doesn't work? UPDATE: So, I sent the bidet in to Bidetking twice to get it fixed. The second time Bidetking sent me a refurbished unit a gave me a period of time to send my faculty bidet before charging me. There was no additional cost to me to do any of this. However, the refurbished unit had the wrong water spray nozzle (single hole) installed. The proper spray nozzle has two holes. This is not insignificant. The dual spray nozzle is has a more powerful spray and thus cleans better and faster and may use better quality materials. I was so exhausted with dealing with this issue that I didn't even bother to call Bidetking to have it replaced. That said, I haven't had a problem with the bidet since. I don't know if I'll be buying from this company again. I expect something this expensive to work without all the time spent discovering problems and getting it fixed. Finally, I expect it to be fixed by competent workers and properly.

Review of Alpha JX, Biobidet BB-2200 and Brondell E600
So we got our first bidet seat for xmas 2018. It was a Brondell E600. Just to set the stage...I am 6'3" and weigh about 270lbs and my wife is 5'8" and weighs about 160lbs. We really liked everything about this bidet with one exception. It has a water tank with heater and the warm water would run out within about 15-20 seconds even though most everything I read said it would last 40-60 seconds. Now, it really only takes about 10-15 seconds of washing to get the job done BUT...I like to let it go a little longer just to make sure it's all nice and clean on the ole bottom so we would run out of warm water most of the time. Due to this, we decided to move that seat to our kid's bathroom and order another one for me and the wife. Wifey said that the Brondell E600 also didn't seem like it hit the right spot on her front wash and she had to wiggle around a bit to get that done but it wasn't a deal breaker for her because she liked everything else about it. We started shopping around again and decided on the Biobidet BB-2200. Biobidet BB-2200 - This seat has a lot of features but we felt like the quality of this seat was not as good as the Brondell. We also noticed that the seat did not stay very warm. It seemed like it was just about room temp all the time, after you sat down for about 30 seconds you could feel it start warming up. It almost seemed like it was in eco mode all the time no matter whether it was set to low or high. It did seem to have an endless supply of warm water no matter how long you let the wash cycle run. I ended up contacting someone at bidetking.com and asking about the seat warming and was told that they have one in their office and it's the same way. We decided the cost was too much to just settle so we returned it and have now ordered a Brondell swash 1200. Brondell Swash 1200 - waiting on delivery so can't say at this time but feel confident we will love it. Summary: After owning a Brondell, a Biobidet and a Alpha JX we have decided that of them all we liked the Brondell brand a lot more. It just seems like the quality is better. The seat is nice and toasty at all times even on the low and medium settings. On the Biobidet and the Alpha we noticed when you get up from the toilet the seat wants to lift up with you. That did not happen on the Brondell. Seems like that is due to the heavy dutyness (don't think that's a real word) of the seat of the Brondell. The lid of the Biobidet seemed very flimsy and weak. The Alpha was better in that regard. The Alpha seemed to clean the worst of them all that we've tried. This is a significant investment (well worth it in our opinion) and you should be completely satisfied since you will be using it daily. We truly believe based on experience now that the amount of toilet paper we will save the seat will pay for itself in 2 yrs or less. Obviously, there is a fair amount of personal preference with an item like a bidet but for us, we think the Brondell brand is significantly better quality than all the others we tried. I can also say that I used to travel to Japan quite a bit and they almost solely use Toto brand there so I have tried them also and the Brondell brand seems everybit as good as a Toto and Brondell seems to have more features for less money than Toto. My wife said that both the Biobidet and the Alpha did a better job washing her front parts but I believe that's because they both have 2 separate wands (one for the rear and one for the front) which allows for better washing of a ladies parts than just having one wand for both like the Brondell E600 we had first. The new Brondell swash 1200 we have ordered has 2 wands so we are expecting it to wash her front lady parts as well as the Biobidet and Alpha. No matter which one you choose, if you have never had a bidet seat, I think you'll find it's a game changer and you'll wonder how you have gone so long and never owned one. We will never be without one again. It works so much easier and better than toilet paper and/or wipes. Is better for your sewer or septic system and the environment. The Brondell washed so well that even after the wash you can wipe with toilet paper and find the paper will be completely clean! Other than using the single piece of toilet paper to dry off with, you wouldn't need to wipe at all. That reminds me, the dryer function on them all is pretty much worthless so don't let that be a deciding factor in your evaluation of any of them. Oh, and my wife really likes the blue nightlight function on the Brondell too. Hope this helps anyone who is shopping to help you make a decision and get the most bang for your buck.
