why does it have a limit of 500 degree F and the no pro-logic dos not list a temp. limit?

At around 500 degrees, the pot may crack. Ask me how I know. I was heating up my pro-logic after I washed it, planning to re-season it with a light spray of oil, and stupidly set my induction burner to “power” then walked away. I heard a melodious clank, cursed, then came back to see my pan cracked across the bottom. I am replacing it, because I love it so much, and the 4 quart is just the right size for deep-frying grebel, a Christmas dish my family loves.

What is the difference between the Lodge L10DOL3 Pre-Seasoned Dutch Oven and the Lodge Pro-Logic P12D3 Cast Iron Dutch Oven?

This one has handles that slant up and the Lodge L10DOL3 handles are flat. (actually easier for seasoning it)This one has a lid with concentric rings, while the other one has drip points, not rings. (seems easier to season) That's why I got this one.As a note, I got this when it cost the same as the other model. I don't think it's worth paying extra.

Under the lid, does it have self basting drip points?

Mine does not have the self basting drip points. It has a few concentric circles in descending size that probably serve a similar function.

Will the lid from this Dutch oven fit on the lodge 12 inch skillet?

Depends on the skillet you have. It WILL NOT fit the Lodge Logic L10SK3 12' skillet, but it WILL fit the Lodge Pro-Logic P12S3 12' skillet, according to the customer service rep at Lodge...
