I have a large fire pit that had a deep metal pan that completely rusted out. We also had a rodent chew a hole in the regulator hose. I was stumped for a solution until I saw this. It was much shallow than the original pan, but once I removed the old one and cut out the mounts it was able to sit down into the table top unit with millimeters despair along the edges. Installation wasn’t difficult, although the instructions are terrible. A couple of things to note. 1) You will probably have to mount the control panel creatively. There are holes in the sheet metal, but they didn’t match the holes for the controls that I removed. It took some work but it wasn’t too difficult to find a way to mount it. 2) there are two regulators that you need to be aware of. One is right next to the attachment point to the tank. It’s a big red knob. The second one is on the control panel next to the igniter. Once you get everything installed you will want to open up the red knob enough that you have full control over the flame using the control knob. You’ll see what I mean when you get it installed. If you’re not getting any flame you probably have the primary regulator closed too far. 3) the ground wire for the igniter gets attached to the screw that you use to hold the igniter in place. That’s not clear in the instructions. The kit comes with everything you need, including some screws and yellow gas line tape that you will want to use to connect each of the metal parts. In my case the attachments at the valves were very tight but you will want to check them. However, the connections to the Berner are all loosely fitted so you’ll have to take them apart, tape them up, and put them back together snuggly. Overall it wasn’t very difficult, and it works quite well. I recommend the kit for anybody who’s repairing a rotted out propane fire pit. Oh, we used black glass in ours. A 20 pound bag will fill the 18 inch drop in up to the burner, but it will take another 10 pounds if you want the burner to not show. In our pictures I had just put in the first 20 pound bag.

I purchased this to retrofit a patio table into a fire pit and it worked out well. All the components were in the box and even came with tape for the fittings. Puts out a big flame. And sizing was exactly what was described. Only reason for the 4 stars is the dial to adjust the flame is bit hard to use and you basically get a lot of flame or hardly any. For what you get its a good value compared to other high priced ones.

I'm very happy with this! I'm not sure why people are having trouble with the regulator, it works great! It is capable of a very high flame! Counterclockwise the smaller the flame! You just have to understand regulators and know how to adjust! As long as your hole is of size the pan fits right in! Very easy to assemble! If you're igniter doesn't work try spinning the battery around! Very easy to assemble everything was included! The trickiest part, depending on your model is mounting the control panel! If you're lazy! Just stuff it underneath you don't have to mount it at all! For the 18-in what I have I recommend 20 lb of gravel I ordered 10 and decided it wasn't enough I ordered another bag it'll be here Monday!

Just a couple of issues, otherwise the product is pretty nice. 1. Manual is not very clear, especially the photo's. 2. The main knob for the gas was difficult to install and looks like, with use, that it will pop off easily. 3. Tried to contact the seller to get a part that was missing and my email was refused by the seller. (I found the problem, it was because of the unclear instructions. Materials seem like quality materials and it does give of a nice flame.

Very easy to install. We bought this to replace an old setup that broke. A few modifications to the pan and it was just what we needed.Great flame height. I originally overfilled the pit with fire glass and the flames weren't as high so I removed some and it is perfect now.

To be honest, I was a little concerned that the flame wouldn't be large enough to make it look as though it was a real fire... This little unit throws a ton of flame! In fact, I mostly run it on a much lower flame setting than I would have imagined. Not sure on gas consumption rate though, but man it looks pretty! Installation was as expected... Build quality appears solid.... No surprises. Used fire glass (lava rocks) in tray to cover element with manufactured log set and it looks great!

Very nice product. I was looking for a way to retrofit my 20yo fire pit. This was everything I needed minus a few screws to bring life back to my fire pit. The gas adjustment allows for a great flame height range. Overall extremely happy

This propane kit is really all that's needed to convert a patio table into a nice propane fire pit. Quality parts. Plate holder for valve/igniter is also sturdy.

This burner is amazing for the price. Huge flame and easy to install.

The burner is great but the regulator was not working so I bought another one and is working fine.

We found an old fire table by the side of the road and my husband fixed it up but couldn't get the old burner to work. We ordered this and he installed it with no issues. Then we got some fire glass to put over it and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I'm so glad that we found this kit!
