Can these cut small metal material

My opinion is that these are not going to cut metal unless it is quite soft. These are designed for wood and plastic - very light weight blades that will bend under excessive pressure.

not thick at all. they bend easily

Does it work for balsa wood cutting?

I think this would work on balsa wood but the blades are very thin and bend easily. I also had difficulty keeping the blade secure in the handle even though I tightened it over and over during the cutting process. If necessary, I sometimes use just the blade without the holder, but don't use this too very much anymore.

What is the country of origin?

From the quality of the parts I'm willing to bet on China, but definitely asian in origin. The package has asian writing.
