I love the taste and its crunchiness. not supposed to have as much fat as other nuts. helps with the local economy

Good but hard to eat
Good delicious but Very hard skin to open, I recook in microwave 8 minutes. It hurt my teeth .

Wow. Caught me by surprise.
These Baru nuts caught my eye the other day as I was scanning for something else. Intriguing nutrient profile (mostly protein and fiber, with very little starch carb content). Now that they've arrived: SERIOUS crunch, definitely more than peanuts. The taste does remind me a little bit of peanuts, but it's deeper and more resonant, and I do get the cocoa descriptor the vendors use. Kinda like the difference between a violin and a cello. They really pulled me in (literally), and I had to stop myself before demolishing 1/2 of a fairly expensive bag (which is the only slight downside). Truly worth a try!

I’m sure these nuts are excellent in a different situation. I found that these nuts tasted rancid as if they had been sitting on a shelf for quite a while before shipping.

The product I received is stale.
Stale. Bad smell and stale flavor. I will buy from another source that I have purchased in the past.

Tasty, Interesting Snack
They are a bit pricey, but a pretty cool snack. Good texture & flavor. The product description is correct, they do taste a bit like peanuts, but a different shape & slightly different texture. If you have teeth that are prone to getting things painfully stuck between them or really delicate and sensitive gums, these may not be the snack for you. Something that contributes to their unique texture and taste is their "skin". It's like peanut skin but much firmer & crunchier. It can sometimes get stuck between your teeth. Overall, I would say; try them if you like nuts and are looking for something different. I will buy them again!
