It seems strange to give something like this 5 stars
It seems strange to give something like this 5 stars, but it was inexpensive, and I forget that it's there (I've had no issues with how it works). That's about the best case scenario I could think of. It's build quality isn't very impressive, but who needs a titanium cased telephone cord coupler? I'd rather it be inexpensive.

Crossed wires?
The coupler I received is wired wrong. The pins on one side are a different order than the pins on the other side. This caused massive head ache of checking other things before I found the problem.

A bit on the tight side for my taste
Having used this type of coupler for decades (don't want to give away my age here), in my opinion this connector requires too much force to connect. I cannot imagine why this would be, but my trusty digital calipers say this is slightly undersized on every internal dimension (by 1 to 2 hundredths of an inch). I have never used one of these where I had the apprehension that I was going to break something trying to get the two together.

It's bulky, flimsy (if bumped too hard or stepped on, the halves would definitely break apart), and more expensive than competitors; but it works and there isn't any perceptible loss in audio quality.

Works
I used one of these to attach a 50 ft cord to a 3 way splitter. The 3 way connects to two plugs which feed the 2 jacks in the house while the third jack in the 3 way splitter is currently empty. The source of the 50 ft cord is a magic jack plus. So, this did what I needed it to do without any issues, hum, or call degradation.

Extending the length of interface assembly between a telescope mount and telescope remote
Used the Inline Telephone Coupler to extend the length of a remote for a Celestron Telescope. Used continuously for the last month with no issues. The connections are snug and don't have to worry about the telephone cords on each end separating from the Coupler.

Not a straight through coupler
Not as described, coupler wiring is not straight through, it's reverse on the other end, dissembled to re arrange the pins and the pins just snaps off, trash.

excellent product and connected it between two RJ12 6' coil cables that I connect one end to my throttle and the other end to an interface panel that I use to control my HO scale locomotives
