This is gonna be a long one so buckle up. I grew up on the water in Maine. I guided paddle trips for a prominent youth organization. I have been Certified to teach paddle sports by every organization that does so. I have thousands of hours and even more miles on the water in small craft. I love this thing. So my family has been off the water for a while do to no storage for boats where we live. I have been looking at inflatables for a bit, prime day came around, and I went for it. Here’s the good: super compact. We can fit two in the back of my wife’s small suv with everything we need for a family of 4 to have a great day on and off the water Very stable. Try as he might, my two year old can barely even rock one of these, even with my 280lbs in the high seating position. The peace of mind with little ones on board is amazing. Now, the amazing: Versatility. I have never had a craft of any kind that can be so quickly reconfigured to cover any possible need. We took them to a local park with a group of friends to really give them a workout. Within 90 minutes the went from carrying 1 adult and one child, to two adults, to two 7-10 year olds and one adult, to just one adult fishing. With the way the seats and foot pegs attach to the boat, you can re set for weight distribution or activity in seconds. It’s really kind of mind boggling how well thought out this is. Ease of paddling. So I’ve read all the reviews about this being slow and unresponsive. I don’t understand what they are talking about. For the sheer size of this thing it is darn near nimble. And. with the correct skeg for the water you are paddling, it is almost thoughtless to control which allows you to pay attention to what you want, rather than wrestling a boat. Wonderful. Getting setup. My daughter (who is seven) and I can park our car and be on the water in just about 15 minutes. It’s great. We can get in a paddle after work/school with just about the same ease as having hard boats without all the extra weight, transportation issues etc. A couple of things that maybe aren’t the best, but I really don’t care: The paddles are terrible. They are plastic and aluminum 5 stage, short paddles. They suck. You can get way better for 30-40 bucks on here. Do that, problem solved. Long term durability. We’ve had them out a handful of times and I can see scuffs and fold marks already. But you have to remember this is an inflatable boat. They just aren’t going to last forever. These are tougher than most I’ve seen and I if I get a couple of seasons out of them at this price point, I’m happy. Over all, the only thing I am upset about is that I waffled on this purchase for so long. These watercraft have quickly become an integral part of my family’s summer and we will enjoy them for as long as we can. Well done Intex, Well done.

After 3 years of use across multiple great lakes, inland lakes, and rivers, I am extremely pleased with this boat. I've had no issues with the durability of the boat having set it up and broke it down on a number of trips. Setup and breakdown is easy with the included pump, which can be used for both inflation and deflation, as well as pumping water our of the craft it that becomes necessary. For that reason I always keep the pump in the boat when paddling. I've used the boat both in a single person, and a 2 person configuration right up to the 400lb limit with no issue. (6'1" 230lb and 5'3" 130lb passangers + some cargo) The smart phone holder, and other accessories are well built and functional. I'd love to find a good cup holder that can attach to the included accessory bar. If and when I do manage to wear this boat out, I would definitely purchase again. Great value.

I waited to post a review until at least one season of use (and was a lot}. Very sturdy, durable, and easy to prepare going in the water. I mostly went in lakes, and easy rivers with minimal movement from motor boats (couple times in Long Island Sound- which has currents/ tides from the Atlantic). Having the two options of a shallow or deep skeg, made it possible to go in almost any body of water with other crafts' activity (though not great for rough current, and waves). Do not underestimate the durability, it's a workhorse and seemingly indestructible for an inflatable. It doesn't move nearly as fast as a hard kayak, but it's transportable and fits in any vehicle (probably literally); which is great if your driving and are spontaneous enough to get into a lake or river when that wasn't at all related to your destination. I've never kayaked before, so I had to know what I was getting myself into, I've watched Youtube videos ("Paddle Tv" and several others, was a great educational tool). Then I researched inflatables to nauseum (reviews; I compared ALL specs, features, costs, the option of available future accessories, etc.). This kayak and manufacturer was not the absolute top of the line, but I wanted above all, the most dependable, and durable inflatable, (being almost 6' and over 230lbs- I couldn't rely on marketing ads for assurance they were being honest), but I didn't want to spend over $1000 for something I never tried doing, so I went with the second best (based off all my research), it has not disappointed and I made a wise and great decision. HOWEVER, after having kayaked my second season, I can form a good opinion of it's quality (already covered above); but is now for the (somewhat constructive) criticism... after paddling for a while, the clips that secure the seat backs are located in the middle on each side (inside the seating area) began digging into the sides of my legs (I had to continuously reposition how I was sitting), and while paddling, my knuckles periodically scraped the accessory track located on the top of the sides, which intermediate kayakers may have a reason why I'm "paddling wrong", but this isn't the case, it's the location of the track. These two reasons limited kayaking time to no more than two hours (with constant repositioning). I need to find a solution of how to cover the clips with a soft material. This being said, I since bought a hard kayak, but still use this kayak a lot. Sorry this review was so long, but there may be people considering a kayak for the first time, but my specific situations may resonate with those new to kayaking (like I was, and somewhat are still). For what this product cost, I was astonished at how well its taken abuse. I used it for a week on a salt water ocean bay with an adult and 2 kids in it. It's so functional that it is easy to forget its an inflated rubber boat and not an indestructible plastic kayak. We discovered that in use, as long as you don't take the same grounding risks you would with a plastic kayak (like grounding it on a rocky beach and tearing a hole in it), its an excellent value and very mobile in its backpack. A few things did immediately break- the rope safety straps on the ends are melted together and not tied, this broke instantly towing an 80lb kid in surf. Some buckles slipped off on the backpack, and you need to remember that the collapsible paddle is not as robust as a solid one for forcing you off an obstacle. Also the pack is heavy and I highly recommend opening pre trip, practicing deflation and rolling uo to repack, and removing all the parts you don't think you will need. There's a lot of fishing specific stuff we didn't need that I was worried might damage the kayak material jammed in there. Also, drain the boat before deflating it! Great fun, may get another for rest of family

I bough the K1. I have spent a lot of time floating cheap boats down Class I and II Rapid rivers. This boat is perfect for that. Most people will tell you this boat is not for rapids... and well... they would be right, but it handles Class I - II fine. The only downside is that if you take on any water, even with the one plug in the bottom open, you will have to eddy out and dump the water out of the boat. The backpack it comes with for everything is great and I could even see me hiking it up to a high mountain lake for camping, even though it is heavy. There is a handy pressure gauge, too, which i thought was a great addition. I like the foot rest aspect of this boat but I will modify mine with velcro so that it doesn't pop out when i am rowing hard. I have not used the fishing pole mounts or the phone / gopro mount but they seem sturdy. If you are looking for a durable, cheap, and highly functional boat for lakes or even Class I - II rapids, this boat is a steal. Now... let me tell you what I did with it right out of the box. I did Class III rapids with this boat immediately. I do not advise anyone else try that with this boat. Once the boat takes a few waves of water into it, it goes from feeling like you are paddling a Mazda Miata to driving a Dumptruck, and if you can't eddy out to drain the boat, you will be along for the ride. I also got hung up on a big boulder because I did not navigate the boulder field correctly. This boat is quite durable and didn't pop. I am telling you, for the money, this boat is durable. Near the end of my float I got the paddle stuck in a rock and the boat mowed over my paddle splitting it in two. I used half of a broken paddle to maneuver this boat completely full of water into a serious set of rapids. I missed my put-out and barely reached some bushes I held onto for dear life, until I dragged my carcass and this boat out of the river. I tell you all of this so you know that I put this boat through hell and it took everything I threw at it. I am sure you are smarter than me and will not be as hard on your boat as I am with mine. Hope this helps... are you are still reading this dribble??? Just buy this boat already! We both know you have spent WAY more money on things that are WAY less fun...

Set up. Inflating kayak is very easy. Chairs are a pain to inflate. Doesn’t take long at all. No holes found on initial inflation. If using the booster to sit higher, there will be adjustments to find right spot for chair. To far forward and you will slide off the front of seat. Clip on Rod holder openings are narrow. I find it easier to carry by myself while inflated. Comfort. I’m 6’1 220 with back issues. I found this seat to be more comfortable than the nice seat I have on my sit on fishing kayak. I spent over 10 hours sitting in it. Strength/Reliability/Stability. I have used it three times fishing on rocky rivers. I went over rocks, up against rocks and no issues. Pleasantly happy. No issues with hooks finding a way into kayak. This kayak does not tip easily. You will really have to work at it to tip. If it’s a windy day, this is not the kayak to use on an open lake unless you have two people in it. That being said, because it is so light I have found it very easy to paddle and control. . Going up stream with a light kayak is much easier. Storage. The bag is nice but to get everything back in the bag is a little bit challenging. I will buy a large plastic tote to put it in and store accessories in the bag it came with. Update. Used it on the ocean, lakes, and rivers. Went over lots of sticks and rocks and still no holes. Seriously a great buy. Watch out for sand in the connection for bottom fin, makes for hard removal.

I was looking for an inflatable kayak because I don’t have a suitable vehicle to transport a rigid kayak and I didn’t want to give up a lot of basement or garage space to store one. I had researched a few and was hesitant because the cost on some that were well reviewed in articles was a bit more than I wanted to spend, plus I wasn’t convinced that I would fit comfortably in the one I was researching. There is a small lake near me that I planned to use it on primarily. One day I saw some people in one while I was hiking around the lake and I asked how they liked it. They gave it rave reviews and it turned out that it was this model: Intex Excursion It was much more affordable than others I had been looking at and it can handle 2 riders (or one) so that gives me ample room for traveling solo and can still stow some stuff in front and back. The people I talked to that raved about theirs were traveling with 2 in kayak and doing so comfortably, so if I want to carry a passenger I thing there is enough room. But I always think it’s more fun to go with someone who is in their own kayak and travel side by side. The other thing that won me over was that this particular model comes with 2 paddles, pump, and pressure gauge. So for one price I was getting pretty much everything I needed and the price was better than others I was looking at that didn’t come with those things. I never had an inflatable kayak before so I wasn’t expecting it to handle well compared to rigid kayaks that I’ve been in. That is part of why I had been looking at more expensive models… I figured that if I cheaper out too much that it would not be a very useful boat. So I was a little bit skeptical. I have to say though that when I got this one it really won me over on the first outing. I had intensions of trying to find adaptor for a powered tire pump that I have (even though instructions say not to use a compressor) but I figured that on first outing I would just try the hand pump that it comes with and see how hard or easy it was to pump that way. I was pleasantly surprised: it was very quick and easy to pump it up. Even on the first try, I had the kayak fully inflated in just over 5 minutes. It requires just a little effort, not too much at all. Consider it a little mini warmup before you go paddling. In subsequent trips, now that I know what I’m doing, I’ve gotten a little faster with it maybe 3 to 5 minutes on average and I’m pumped up and ready to put kayak into water. When you are done, you deflate boat with same pump, switching hose to other side to make it a vacuum. This is pretty quick and easy process as well. When I got into the water, I was pleased that it didn’t feel droopy or saggy like a pool raft, this feels like a real kayak- pretty rigid and stable. When I started paddling I was pleasantly surprised, it is a fast kayak and you can get it going well without a lot of resistance. Much faster than I was expecting and the tracking is pretty good at least as good as any rigid plastic kayak that I’ve ever rented anywhere. Probably better because you can put in a removable keel rudder fin on bottom. There are two sizes provided. I’ve just been using the small one so that I don’t scrape it in shallow parts of lake on rocks or branches near shore or in coves. The small one works just fine … bigger one might be better if you were going to be in deeper water… like at a beach. The paddles that come with it break down into several section so they are easy to transport and store. They work pretty well. You get two, so you have one for each if you go with two people on board, but I’m just looking at it as a backup set if I lose or break the first paddle. It seems pretty sturdy and comfortable enough for basic use. If you got a little more serious, you might want to upgrade to a better paddle that is lighter or stronger or more comfortable but these aren’t too bad to get you started. I am sort of a cheapskate, so I most likely will just stick with these paddles unless or until anything goes wrong with them, they work just fine. There is maybe a slight bit of play in them that I can feel where the sections snap together, but this is very minor so I am not too concerned. The only negative thing I can really come up with does not affect me too much where I go because I can park very near to the put in point. The weight for everything is a bit heavy if you had to go hiking very far. They provide a nice backpack to put everything in. But good luck ever getting the boat and the seats and the pump and paddles all in there. If you did, the kayak itself is about 35 lbs. With the other items from the kit I guess you’d be about 40 lbs, not including any other gear you might want to take out. It would be feasible but not very easy to go hiking and take all of this with you, but it’s much better if you can park near water and not attempt to carry it all far. Once you inflate kayak, you can drag it easily over grass and that is simple way to get it a short distance into water. If you have to go further you can team carry it or balance on head or shoulder solo and that is not bad for a short distance when it is inflated. Obviously it weighs nearly the same when inflated but it is a lot easier to move around. You can attempt to store it all in the backpack and then hike with it like they show in promotional video— but good luck doing that! For the lake I’ve been going to it is perfect. There is another lake with a large creek that feeds it, I went exploring that creek more recently. Current isn’t very strong and most of the creek is deep enough so I went back in around 2-1/2 miles and just had to avoid some shallower parts where I was running aground. That was very successful as well. This thing is pretty rugged, however I would be a bit more cautious if I were taking it somewhere with rapids or sharp rocks or underwater branches. That might be enough to puncture or tear it. Overall though, I am very enthusiastic about this purchase and enjoying it quite a bit this Summer.

Very sturdy, don't have to worry about flipping over, the weight is light making it easy to transport and carry, tracking is not as good as I hoped it would be but good enough. Material is very good, not concerned about puncturing it. It does not handle wind or choppy water well, get blown and pushed around easy great for calm water. The seat sits you up high, which I do like though it's not the most supportive, going to rig up something to get more lower back support. Overall for the price it is a very good kayak, easy to pack up and take with you in a car, inflation/deflation is easy as well. Got me back out and I'm happy with that. I would have spent a little more to get better handling in rougher water and faster/straighter tracking.

The kayak is well packaged complete with a holder for phone and 2 fishing rods. The oars seem flimsy but should be ok for casual kayaking. Serious kayakers should get their own oars. Overall the material seems tough although I have not taken it out on the water yet. So far it’s good value for the money.

Feels really solid, doesn't bend or sink in. Tried with my two little kids on a sea and on a river - brilliant. A bit heavier tha I expected but that just confirms durability of materials. Paddles really good considering the price of the whole lot. Pump that comes with it very efficient and I love the fact it's both - inlet and outlet of the air - easier do deflate. Just great

Excelente producto, muy facil de inflar con una resistencia excelente, lo he usado en lagos y presas cerca de mi ciudad y ha sido una grata experiencia. Recomiendo una vez adquirido ver tutoriales de como inflarlo, como doblarlo y que hacer y no hacer para que les dure mucho tiempo
