The little strap that sealed the deal for me, to buy this bag, turned out to be the first thing that seems to rip. the little strap is sewn at 2 ends. Well after continuously wearing this for about 3 weeks, the strap starts to fray on 1 end. At first I thought it's just a thread, then I noticed it's getting loose (as in no more weave). So disappointing. Everything else is good too. Just wish this bag could've been made better.

Was reluctant to order this as its so expensive for a canvas bag - at almost the price of a leather one - but so glad I did! Bought for our trip to pick-pocket-mecca Barcelona. Perfect for a holiday handbag, particularly due to two side pockets (that store flat if empty) for easily accessible bottle of water or brolly. Hunted for ages for a bag with two elasticated side pockets - very few to choose from. Lots of compartments. Big enough for packed lunch and thin waterproof, camera, guidebook etc as well as purse. Every zip has an (optional) security clip that prevents thieves pickpocketing without a lot of obvious fiddling. Strap strengthened to prevent thieves slashing. Even has a little key ring clasp inside with a mini torch so you can find things! Sits quite flat against body and can be carried on shoulder or cross body so really comfy and secure. Superb technical design, great quality, and looks lovely too. Suitable for male or female.

I normally check in my luggage when flying, and then I use this bag for the cabin. It hangs on my hip out of the way and makes movement through the airports and the plane itself an unencumbered pleasure rather than a trek. The bag is the perfect size for an iPad, a Kindle, a charger, earphones, passport and other paperwork, foreign currency wallet, and a small water bottle that I fill up after security. The top front pocket is fairly small, which means things can't get muddled up deep down inside it and so it's perfect for passport and boarding card that you repeatedly need to grab and present as you pass through the airport. There are plenty of other pockets in which I can organise the other stuff; for example I put paperwork needed for the return trip in the pocket on the back, out of the way until needed. Size-wise the bag is far from filled by the above items - I once used it for an overnight at an airport hotel having checked in my luggage the night before to save time, and as well as my standard gear it easily held a clean shirt, socks, and underwear plus minimalist toiletries. I think it looks neat and stylish, and (except for the items below) it generally seems of decent quality. So much for the upsides - the downsides are in the pictures. After probably no more than ten round-trip journeys, the mesh forming the water bottle pocket has started to unravel. The bottle isn't oversized for the pocket, and being an insulated type it contains less water than the overall size would permit and so is lighter. The pocket didn't get seriously snagged on anything as far as I know, it just started to unravel from moderate use. Having the water on board but not inside the main compartment where it can leak into the electronics and documents was a major reason for picking this bag after extensive searching, so this is a serious disappointment. In addition, the D ring on the front that the "security" zip pull clips onto has unscrewed itself and fallen off. This isn't a big deal to me as I didn't buy the bag for its security features, but it raises further questions about the build quality. I really only use this bag for flying and I don't fly all that regularly, so it has by no means suffered extensive use. Unfortunately this is sold from the US which makes things complicated from a Sale of Goods point of view, and I probably won't bother pursuing it. Instead I'm wondering whether my sewing skills are up to making a repair that doesn't look ugly...
