Soundcore Anker 3 Bluetooth Speaker with Stereo Sound, Titanium Drivers

This is a cracking little speaker! I wanted something that was very portable for trips to our caravan, that had decent sound and was easy and not faffy to set up - and the Soundcore Anker 3 ticks all of these boxes comfortably. It feels well built, comparatively heavy (in a good way - meaning decent drivers and not cheap/plasticky) and good quality - I was worried that at this price point it might have been a one or two trip wonder, but absolutely not - this will last for ages no problem. So build quality is good - and the sound is very surprisingly excellent for it's size and price, easily enough oomph to fill our static caravan, and not just in terms of volume - the quality is great, not "tinny", or "thin" - a rich, balanced sound that is easily as good as a portable stereo four times it's size and price. Genuinely over the moon with the quality of sound from this little thing. It came fully charged, and was a breeze to set up - you can also download the (free) Soundcore app that will allow further EQ adjustment, yet further adding to the sound quality - but it really does sound ace right out the box. With audio equipment you really do get what you pay for - but this wee gem bucks the trend, it won't break the bank, is super portable, and most importantly sounds great for it's size and price point - MUCH, MUCH better than I was expecting - perfect for trips away, hotel rooms, camping, caravanning or basically anywhere that taking a big portable would be a pain in the "neck" - this wee guy is all you need. Well chuffed with mine.

I love the Soundcore 3 (S3) speaker. It has fantastic sound reproduction at a really low price. Initially, the speaker is configured to have a blinking light and sound effects when switching on/off or connecting to devices but these can be switched off, if you read the instructions very carefully. I finally decided to buy a dedicated BT speaker to save my portable Guitar amp from being abused for the role. Of all on the market, the Anker really stands out for features and price, plus, my daughter has had a Soundcore 2 (S2) for a few years and so I knew how good they were. In comparison with an S2, the S3 has improved bass and so I can listen to podcasts at lower volume. Phone calls are also excellent quality, with the ability to hold one call whilst answering another too, as with the S2. The app really takes this unit to another level as one can shape the sound or control the configuration, like turning off the sound effects. Through the app, one can activate a bass boost, for use only with the pre-configured soundscapes. However, I have found that, for podcasts, customising the sound with the EQ low levels raised is far more effective for getting a deep timbre. So, I won't be using the 'voice' setting. Physically, the S3 is larger than the S2. As a motorcyclist, who travels extensively and works from location to location, size is a critical logistical factor. I personally love the size of the S2 and think that were I to need the Aux in socket, which is removed on the S3, I would probably have bought it over the S3 for practical reasons. I think the rubber coating is possibly a little more robust too. What has been improved for the S3 are the buttons which require less pressure to activate and travel a shorter distance to those of the S2. These differences make using the speaker far more pleasant but, of course, only noticeable if comparing the S2 to the S3. Effects and turning them off --------------------------------- There are two effects used by the speaker when you first switch it on. A blinking white BT light to the right and sound effects when switching on, off or connecting to devices. I find both effects pointless and distracting so I was very pleased to learn they can be switched off. To do so, however, is not immediately obvious and so I thought I'd include the steps here. 1. Switching off blinking white light. To turn off, or rather switch light to stead blue, press and hold the BT symbol until the light turns blue. Repeat to go back to a white blinking light 2. Turn off all sound effects. You will require the app to turn off the sound effects which are activated when switching on or off the speaker, and when entering the various connection settings. Rather confusingly, the setting is called 'Voice prompt'. Turning 'Voice prompt' off will mute all effects. I think my confusion came when I associated 'Voice prompt' with electronic assistants, like Siri! Still, if you've read this far, you now know it is simply a poorly labelled feature. Summary ----------- The Soundcore 3 is a great BlueTooth speaker with excellent sound reproduction and great bass response for use with podcasts. The buttons and robust rubber exterior are enhanced from that of the previous model. It is also larger and more heavy that its predecessor. Whilst there are lighting and sound effects initially, these can be muted or switched off to minimise distractions. A great addition is the inclusion of a well thought out App to control the sound profile some config settings of the speaker.

Very good value for money. It feels weighty and looks and feels like a quality item. The sound production is excellent and you would really have to be a music purist to want something better. Connects very easily to broadband devices. All-in-all and excellent product.

Although this model is a few years old now it's still a cracker. Solid build, compact, looks great, super functionality including set up and options, quite a volume too. Not ultra high-end sound but still a very fine sound indeed especially when customised via Soundcores brilliant app. For my needs, filling a fair sized room with an output you can appreciate its job done. Can't recommend highly enough. I never give 5 stars straight away to any product where durability is a factor. I normally update after 12 months of normal use.

Does the job, volume is great for my flat I don’t reach max volume at all. I got it on a whim when on sale but it just does the job to use in my gym hall (enough to fit a basketball court), it is however on max there which is fair enough due to the size but still impressed. Small enough to take in my bag to practice and with the black colour and rubbery feel on the outside it doesn’t feel fragile to me in my backpack. When it is on max volume however and I forget and try to turn it up more when I’m the gym hall, it makes my music pause awkwardly for a bit which I could see being a little annoying to people but will just take getting used to.

Have always been a bit of an Apple fanboy. Had loads of pairs of every generation of AirPods. But the last few I’ve noticed a big decline in quality and one ear failing or poor sound quality. And this seems to the case for Apple overall. I needed a desk speaker and a light the SoundCore 2s and moved the quality. No bought the 3 and the quality is just as good (both have their strong points) but generally similar sound quality but the model 3 is lighter. And I prefer the buttons on it. I love that you can change things in the all while in use too. When I came to have to replace my Apple AirPods yet again I decided to try a different brand. And as I liked the speakers, I went for the SoundCore Liberty 5 pro which are miles better than AirPods. Also bought an Anker/SC work for AI voice dictation while driving. I’m really loving this brand and whenever looking for audio based products, soundcore are becoming my go to now.

Soundcore 3 - It’s an Impressive speaker for the size and price ( i paid £34.00) Sound quality is very good , perfect for people who don’t play really really loud music. For smaller indoor rooms it’s just perfect. Please note - I’ve not tested outside. I can’t comment on battery life as I’ve not owned long enough.

I didn't know what to expect in terms of volume and bass management but for what it is i would totally recommend it. During this summer it has become my go to musical device. It is very versatile device and very easy to connect to your mobile phone/ laptop/PC and away you go. The range of the device is ok but not brilliant, However i haven't really had an opportunity to test this in an outdoor space and indoor spaces can be affected by other devices. It is built really well and has a sleek modern appearance, has excellent volume and bass, also the battery life is very good and the power lasts for a long time
