Great Keyboard, ignore the negative reviews
So I work in another country and couldn't walk with my Yamaha MODX8 (which is one of the best synthesizers on the market by the way). I needed a new keyboard to practice and watched tons of Youtube video to decide which board to buy that was under $1000. I was split between the Yamaha DGX 670 and the Kawai ES110 (which is around the same price range). I was also a bit skeptical after watching the reviews that complained about the quality of the speakers. I settled on the Yamaha DGX 670B because it seemed to offer more in terms of Styles (and backup band). I can say definitively, that I haven't regretted the decision. This board exceeds my expectation. The piano sound is beautiful, and the speakers are really good, defying what I heard about the onboard speaker quality. While it doesn't have the means of loading Yamaha's flagship Bosendorfer piano sound (like I could with my MODX8), the Yamaha CFX grand sound is really nice. Plus there are two other major piano tones (if you don't like the Yamaha CFX default sound), as well as many other voices. This board makes me not miss walking with my MODX, and the key bed feels exactly the same. CONS: (1)I am not sure whether the keybed is fully weighted as my previous Yamaha MOXF8 had a heavier action (2) The keys only comes with double sensors unlike the Kawai ES110 which has triple sensors, hence the Kawai ES 110 are more suited for advanced pianists, especially when playing thrills and other ornaments. (3) The key bed doesn't come with key escapement as in the P515, which gives a closer feel to a real piano. But the Kawai ES110 doesn't have this also. (4) You can import new styles but you can't import new voices or samples. (5) You can only play a maximum of 3 voices at the same time (1 with your left hand and 2 with your right), while other more expensive boards allow you to play as much as nine voices at the same time. (6) This keyboard is waaay too heavy. My more advanced MODX8 feels significantly lighter. Hence, it is not advantageous for mobility reasons. Overall, this board is a great buy. Easy to use, really professional sounds, arranger functions, etc. Update: It's now almost three months since I bought this board and I'm still enjoying it. Great buy! Today, July 30, 2022, I learnt that I could hook this digital piano up to my laptop via a USB cord (these small details are not in the user manual), and without needing to buy a MIDI/Audio Interface for US$120, I can take advantage of DAW and virtual pianos on my laptop, seamlessly. This keyboard has the ability to do that. Which means that you can expand your available piano or organ sounds via KEYSCAPE, Alicia's Keys, PianoTeq, etc. or any other of your favourite virtual piano sounds. You would just need to turn your Midi setting on your board on, and turn the keyboard volume off. If you want to use your VST to bluetooth the sound back to your DGX Onboard speakers, you must install the Yamaha Steinberg driver, which will remove the delay experienced.

Yamaha DGX-670B, 88-Key Weighted Digital Piano with Sustain Foot Switch and Music Rest
I'm a new piano player wannabe (student) of just a few weeks - I was using my teacher's much older loaner model (2015-ish) and once I decided I liked learning piano I bought this one. I was a bit concerned that the music rest (book stand) wouldn't be tall or sturdy enough to hold the thick big book one gets as a student but it holds mine (Faber, book 1) upright, firmly, and well! Although this comes with a sustain pedal, it's nothing to brag at. I bought the furniture stand for it, the 3-pedal, and a nice adjustable bench. So far, I'm a really bad-piano-playin' happy camper! The price was right ($799.99). I unpacked it by myself, and yes it's a heavy beast (47 lbs) - although it's touted as "portable", I can't imagine I'll move it once it's in it's final resting place. Be aware that the piano is a whopping 55" in length (end to end) so if you're in a small living space you'll need to know that. The keyboard and all the functions rock. It's a pretty sturdy electric piano. I hope it lasts me through my (probable) 10-year learning journey. Believe it or not, Grok AI helped me with all my questions about the best digital piano for a beginner. I had about four that I was interested in, I settled on this one with the most features and the biggest LCD screen. I had a user issue and contacted Yamaha via their website, and they replied within a couple of days - situation solved (I think). So yes, I recommend this digital piano (I got the black one) ;o}

Great sounds
I am NOT affiliated with any company, so this is an honest review. I’m definitely happy with this purchase. I like it better than my previous, more expensive keyboard which was a Casio Privia PX-560M. The internal sounds are better for almost every instrument (and there are a LOT!). The piano sound is fantastic, similar to a Yamaha I played in a local recording studio many years ago. That great Yamaha piano low register clarity and the crisp high register that are Yamaha trademarks are there, with options for closed top, or two open positions and room ambience settings. It’s almost worth it just for that piano sound. The interface is also well done and better than the Privia. The action feels really good for weighted key action, but as with almost all keyboards it’s not 100% the same as an acoustic action. The only down side is the weight of the keyboard makes it a little less easy to take to gigs. I remember taking Rhodes cabinets years ago and this is nothing like that, so it’s only a minor issue for those that have lugged heavier gear in the past. But if you’re looking for a keyboard to easily pickup and go, you might want to compare the weight of this with the weight of other keyboards. All in all, it’s definitely one of the best in this price range, and better than some more expensive ones as well (my Casio was $400-$500 more and it didn’t have any better features, except the internal multitrack recording, which you can still do on here with MIDI, but I use my home studio for that anyway). Side note … if you own a cat, get waterproof covers for when you’re not playing. That’s how I lost my expensive Casio. Ugh!

Fantastic upgrade!
Beautiful sound and great upgrade from the DGX660! The Bluetooth function is great - hearing backing tracks pump through the speakers while you play the keys is certainly an experience and really drives home that this is a performance piano. You just need to make sure you adjust the Bluetooth volume from the device and not the piano so that the sound is balanced between the two.

Very nice keyboard, but…
I purchased this keyboard as a replacement for my Korg M 50 which is now pushing 20 years old. I wanted a better grand piano sound amongst other things and just an overall updated keyboard experience. I grew up having an upright piano at home and wanted the same playable experience as close as I could get within the price range, so when I saw this one had weighted keys I thought that was something I should purchase that would get me closer to an organic piano experience. while keyboard does offer three different settings from soft to firm for your weighted key experience, the softest one is still too hard for me. yep. You heard it. I just spent $800 on an instrument that is too rough for me to play. Would highly suggest if you can try one of these out in a store that you should do so to make sure the key experience meets with your criteria. I am not a professional pianist by any stretch but I play and sing and stream on my weekends. Also, coming from a 50 key keyboard to an 88 is this one is is just too overwhelming for me and I do not find that the skill I had acquired on the Korg transfers over to this keyboard. That is a very weird thing to say, and I suppose it just takes some getting used to. The Yamaha sounds are wonderful and it has many amazing features. I especially like the fills, starts and stops that it offers you for accompaniment. Also, it offers you the opportunity to learn and Music via downloaded sheet music that you get to see about 2 measures of at a time, as it allows you to follow the music notes while playing. It will stop you if you hit a wrong note. Great learning tool. Many well-known classical pieces included in this. I have tried clair de lune, fur Elise, ode to joy. It’s the typical classical experience you might expect for a beginning piano, while still offering room to grow. If it was not evident to you by the pics of the item, it is BIG and heavy and would highly suggest 2 people to move it and set it up in your house. I was able to do it by myself barely but not without several stops in between lifting it to where I wanted it. very highly suggest buying another expression pedal other than the one that is included here as it will drive you crazy. if you do not have adequate lighting to see what you are doing, you may be stepping on the wrong end of the pedal (it can get turned around very easily ) which does absolutely nothing. Lol I did not buy the furniture base and therefore I do not have the three pedal set up that goes with it. You HAVE to buy the furniture base that goes with this unit in order to use the pedal system that is most like a regular piano which includes the three petals for three different expressions. as for MIDI connection, it is a very easy plug & play. Could not get any easier! Big smiles here for that. Lots of great things about the keyboard and I could recommend it definitely, just for my purposes unfortunately the weighted keys make it too difficult for me to play at any great length -and it’s so disappointing because everything else about this keyboard is awesome! Please learn from my mistakes and if your wrists are delicate or you are dealing with carpal tunnel or you type all day long or have a computer job all day long, you may wish to rethink weighted keys. I am a classical guitarist by training (over 40 years) and I also play concert Harp and I have never had issues like that playing those instruments. my hands and wrists just hurt after I play this keyboard. I have adjusted my settings on my Seat level and I am exactly where I am supposed to be, but my hands just hurt after I play the keyboard. May be my own issue there.

Good deal for the money.
I purchased this to replace a portable digital piano (Dexibell) that has great sound, but a noisy (Fatar) keybed. I have played GHS keybeds before, and found this one to be enjoyable. The sounds are nice. Compared to the Nord and Dexibell, I find the DGX CFX piano sound to be thin in comparison, but there's also a big price difference, and I still enjoy the CF and CFX piano sounds from Yamaha. The speakers pointing up rather than down or forward is a big plus, and I think they sound pretty good, though maybe a little shrill in the upper registers. The weight is heavy for being billed as a portable. I have owned a P125. Loved the weight,sound and key feel of it, but for the price difference, you get alot more piano with the DGX. I don't know if I will ever use the arranger , or many of the other functions. I purchased it as a portable piano with speakers to do some light gig work. Bottom line- It sounds very good at this price point, GHS is enjoyable and I don't feel like I'm restricted in anyway. Again, at this price point, 5 stars.
