I recently went to visit an old friend for a week and she told me that she was a bit concerned as she didn’t own a coffee maker. No problem! Years of camping have taught me the wonders of the Bodum. This particular Bodum is a lightweight but sturdy build with an easy to clean filter/plunger system. The coffee is brewed in 4 minutes and tastes about as fresh as you can possibly get. A quick clean out of the grounds into your compost and you’re ready for your next pot of hot, delicious, made to order coffee. I left this Bodum with my friend as a ‘hostess gift’. I’m not sure how much regular use it will get. I do hope the next guests that visit appreciate the addition. The only reason that I’m reluctantly giving 4 stars is the miserable delivery service in my friend’s area. We decided to have the order sent to my home and then I would rewrap it and carefully pack it for an 8 hour train trip because delivery - even with a prime membership - would be on the 5th day of my 7 day visit. Not an acceptable option. That is my only complaint and not a problem with the product or me as I don’t live there and don’t have plans to return. So I’ve changed my mind. 5 stars for Bodum! If you have a thermos, consider putting excess coffee from your brew into something like that. Just to keep it warm. Great, long standing product with excellent reputation. I would highly recommend.
